Starburst Jewel Series: Project 2

The Starburst Ruler by Creative Grids, designed by It’s Sew Emma, is designed to create unique blocks with zero paper piecing or fancy sewing skills needed.  We love this custom, unique ruler and we have the second project in our Starburst Jewel series to show you how to create perfect blocks every time for this fun project!
This adorable butterfly pillow featuring Desert Bloom by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics is so sweet and whimsical, it looks like it could just fly away! The Starburst Ruler makes it so easy to cut out this free pattern, which you can download here!
We can’t wait to see more sweet little butterflies! Will you use Desert Bloom, or branch out and try a different fabric collection? Be sure to share your project photos with the hashtag #showusyourstarburst, and let us know which fabric you’re using! We love to see all of the different colors and prints work together!

Free Quilt Pattern: Mini Charm Mocha!

It’s time for another gorgeous quilt tutorial and our favorite – a free pattern! Today, we’re going to show you the Mini Charm Mocha free quilt pattern and a quick look at how to create this neutral, metallic piece! As the weather begins to turn, it’s the perfect time to make this quilt, and have a taste of mocha! (But beware, everyone might want this one for their own!)
We selected the Modern Background Luster Metallic collection by Zen Chic for Moda Fabrics. This line is so versatile and gender neutral! The flecks of metallic give such a playful and unique look to the line!
How fun is the stitching on this modern quilt? We love the square charms from the Mini Charm Pack off-set by the squares quilted on the diagonal!
Ready to get started? Pick up a Mini Charm Mocha Quilt Kit and Backing Set for everything you need to get this quilt ready for cuddling!
Here we show you how to easily put this quilt together, using the quilt kit, the Aurifil 50wt Grey Smoke thread and the Creative Grids ruler!

Let’s get to quilting! We can’t wait to see your Mini Charm Mocha quilts! If you’re using a different collection for the free pattern, please share with #minicharmmocha! We love seeing your unique interpretations of our fun, free quilts! Happy quilting!

AGF Stitched with Kimberly: Timber Quilt with FREE Pattern!

Today we’ve got an earthy new addition to the AGF Stitched with Kimberly series, and it’s called Timber!  We like to call it the “plus-plus quilt,” and you’ll have to watch the video to see why.  Timber is designed by the uber-talented AGF team and uses a combination of Heartland by Pat Bravo and Pure Elements Solids to ground it.

It may look tricky, but Kimberly’s got plenty of tips to help speed it up!  Watch our tutorial to see her in action.

Pick up our Timber Quilt Kit to make our bright, modern version, or check out the free Timber pattern to plan your own original quilt.
