Stitch Pink 2023 - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Stitch Pink 2023

We’re joining forces with Moda Fabrics and Aurifil for their Stitch Pink campaign. It’s a cause close to our hearts – raising awareness for breast cancer and showing our support for those who are facing it. Breast cancer is all too common, but there are many ways we can rally together to educate ourselves, our sisters, mothers, aunties, and friends because prevention and early detection are the best way to fight this awful disease.

We’re excited to raise funds again this year for the National Breast Cancer Foundation for the important work they do. During the month of October, Fat Quarter Shop will match $5,000 in donations!

To help bring awareness and bring our community together, Moda Fabrics and Camille Roskelley (@thimbleblossoms) are offering the Adore Quilt Along, and we have everything you need to get started!

The quilt along runs through the month of October, and you can learn more about it, including the full schedule, on Moda’s Blog.

Quilty Staffer Jess will be sewing along using the Adore Quilt Kit that includes the Adore Quilt Pattern by Thimble Blossoms and Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley fabrics for the 84″ x 84″ quilt top and binding, packaged in a 3″ x 10″ x 12″ colorful and cute keepsake box. You can also pick up the beautiful backing set!

If you would like to sew one with your own choice of fabrics, pick up a paper or PDF version of the Adore Quilt Pattern.

Get involved during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fat Quarter Shop will match up to $5,000 in donations during October to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for their work providing early detection, education, and support services.

We encourage you to donate $15 to our fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation by October 31, 2023. Fat Quarter Shop will match up to $5,000 of the donations raised. Together, we can reach our goal of $10,000 to help women at every step of the breast cancer journey.

Updated 12/12/2023: Thanks to all who donated we were almost able to reach our goal! Together we raised a total of $8,200 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation!

Please stay tuned to the blog this month as we’ll be sharing our Stitch Pink project and bringing you a personal story from one of our own.

We hope you decide to join in on the Stitch Pink Quilt Along, and if you do, be sure to share your quilt using #StitchPink2023 and #StitchPink. You can tag us (@fatquartershop) so we can see and share your work!

  1. So glad for breast cancer awareness month. ❤️ About 20 yrs ago an area was found that was questionable in my breast, but I was told it was OK. Apparently it wasn’t ok because all these yrs later I was diagnosed with stage 3b cancer. After an awful year of tests & 5 mos of chemo thru a port & mastectomy in May of this year, I have survived. Never skip mammograms or sonogram. Hormone replacement therapy in my 40s for hot flashes fed this cancer unknowingly. Thank you for making everyone aware 🙏 💓

  2. Bex, I’m glad you got treatment, but that’s terrible that your concerns were ignored for so long! I hear many stories of women being told that a lump is “okay”, only to find later that’s not the case! I just got diagnosed this year, and am 100% with you on the importance of yearly checkups. For me, an ultrasound caught the cancer. I’ll be writing about that on the blog next week to share that information with others.
