We’ve sewn up something sparkly in honor of Moda’s annual Stitch Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This mini quilt was inspired by the collective strength we can draw on from one another in tough times. Supporting women who are going through breast cancer and helping to raise awareness about the importance of early detection is a cause that’s close to our hearts.
The challenge was to make a project using just one charm pack of Lighthearted and Aurifil thread. The result was this cute mini quilt. Quilty staffer Kate Shaw made the quilt with a pad of 4″ Sparkle Star Quilt Block Foundation Paper. This pairing makes good use of the 5″ squares.
Kate’s recent experience with breast cancer diagnosis and treatment serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection. We hope you’ll take the time to ask your doctor about your breast cancer risk, and to schedule a screening if it’s time for you to do so. Know that you’re not alone in this journey. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about empowering yourself and taking control of your well-being. Remember, no one else can advocate for your health quite like you can.
