Let's Get Ready for Bountiful! - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Let’s Get Ready for Bountiful!

We’re almost ready to start our 10th Annual Charity Quilt Along, Bountiful! We’re leaping into this year’s charity quilt and stitch along with the fabric requirements and cross stitch supply list. From March to August we’ll be sewing and stitching our way through this beautiful design, and Kimberly Jolly will share a free quilt block tutorial video each month. It’s nearly time to start, so let’s gather our supplies and get ready!

If you want to make a quilt just like this one, you’ll want to pick up the Bountiful Quilt Kit and Bountiful Specialty Pieced Backing Set, available only at Fat Quarter Shop. The kit comes with all the block and finishing patterns in an exclusive keepsake box with magnetic closure.

If you’re planning on sewing with something different, download the fabric requirements by clicking the button below!

Our Bountiful Quilt and Cross Stitch Pattern benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.

As we embark on our 10th Annual Charity Quilt, we continue to be amazed by the generosity of this sewing community and inspired by the stories of the children who have been granted life-changing Wishes. The fundraiser works by offering the Bountiful patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. From March to August, we will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the first Friday of each month.

A companion cross stitch design is back again this year as part of the Bountiful Stitch Along. This stunning cross stitch design is overflowing with flowers and butterflies that match the 2023 Bountiful Charity Quilt.

  1. My favorite quilt today was the Sunny Patches. I love the fact that it uses Jelly Rolls.
I’m also participating in 2023 Charity quilt.
The Selfies quilt was so awesome. I’ve got to make this!

  2. Thank you so much for releasing the fabric requirements. I’ve been waiting for this QAL for months and am sew excited to start!

  3. This is my first charity quilt with Fat Quarter Shop. I purchased the kit. Can anyone explain what the coloring page is for? Don’t you just use the fabrics sent with the kit? There are numbers across the top 1 to 22 which I’m assuming is for swatches of the different fabrics except the description of the fabrics by number only list 20 fabrics. Some of the fabrics have a number on the selvage and many do not. Not clear of how you know which fabric goes where. Maybe just have to use the website of the collection & try to figure it out. It’s a little confusing to me. Gonna take a bit to make sure I don’t cut something wrong. Looking forward to the video next Tuesday – that will probably help.

  4. I’m new to quilting (2yrs) and purchased this kit and the backing kit. I’m very excited to get started. Any suggestions on how to get organized so that I am ready when the sew along starts?
