Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt Along Part 5

Well hey there, partner! We’re sewin’ up a storm through another month of the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt Along! It’s been quite a ride and there is still a way to go! We’re sew excited to see your progress. There are 45 blocks of the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler Quilt and we are 38 in! This much-anticipated sequel to Farm Girl Vintage features 6″ and 12″ quilt blocks, inspired by Lori Holt’s rural roots. She has also designed 13 new projects, including quilts, pillows and a pincushion that use these cute-as-can-bee blocks!

We covered blocks 21-28 last month, and now we’re catching up on blocks 29 through 38.

Week 15: Blocks 29 and 30

The Mixing It Up and Mr. Scarecrow blocks for week 15 were a hoot! Quilty staffer Teresa loved adding all those little details to Mr. Scarecrow. Both of these blocks are at 12″ in Teresa’s quilt.

Week 16: Blocks 31 and 32

Teresa sewed the Peas and Carrots block and the New Baby Quilt block next at 12″ and 6″ respectively. The New Baby Quilt block makes a cute quilt within a quilt!

Week 17: Blocks 33 and 34

During Week 13, Teresa sewed the Penny Pig and Pretty Dahlia blocks. We have a special adoration for all the farm animal blocks and we just love Penny Pig! This sow is sew cute!

Week 18: Blocks 35 and 36

For week 18, Teresa woke early to crowing from her sewing machine! It was the Rise and Shine Rooster block calling! She also sewed her 6″ Quilting Day block. Excellent piecing! Check out Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Chicken Quilt to see what else you can do with this block.

Week 19: Blocks 37 and 38

This week, Teresa sewed up the Sewing Baskets and the Scrap Quilt blocks! Her half square triangles are looking sharp.

Cream of the Crop

Without further ado, let’s see some project inspiration for blocks 29-36. These can be saved for the Sampler Quilt or made into a quick and easy pillow or mini quilt. Tell us which block you are on in the comments!

Each month on our blog, we’re sharing Farm Girl Vintage 2 blocks, along with additional settings and projects found in Farm Girl Vintage 2. We’ve invited quilters to make the blocks for the Sampler Quilt or any of the other inventive projects found in the book.

The goal is to make two blocks each week so that you’ll be ready to show off your finished quilt on April 24, 2020. We invite you to join us in sharing your progress with #FarmGirlFridays! Be sure to visit Lori’s blog, Bee in My Bonnet, and Instagram every Friday for piecing tips and her adorable blocks.
