Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt Along Starts Today

Are you ready to get started?! Saddle up and get ready for a wild ride! We’ve begun sewing our way through the 45 blocks of the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler Quilt! The much-anticipated sequel to Farm Girl Vintage features 6″ and 12″ quilt blocks, inspired by Lori Holt’s rural roots. She has also designed 13 new projects, including quilts, pillows and a pincushion that use these cute-as-can-bee blocks!

Week 1: Blocks 1 and 2

Quilty staffer Teresa made the first two blocks of the quilt, Autumn Pumpkin and Baked With Love, adding some hand-stitching for steam on the pie. If you’re making the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler Quilt, you’ll want to make these first two blocks at 12″.

About the Quilt

The Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler features all 45 blocks, and room to add a few of your favorite blocks from other Lori books! We are offering a Farm Girl Vintage Sampler 2 Quilt Kit that includes over 28 yards of Farm Girl Vintage fabric for the 88.5″ x 95.5″ quilt top and binding. A Backing Set is available also.

Sew Along Schedule

The Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along starts today and runs through Friday, April 3, 2020. Each month on our blog, we’re sharing Farm Girl Vintage 2 blocks, along with additional settings and projects found in Farm Girl Vintage 2. We’ve invited quilters to make the blocks for the Sampler Quilt or any of the other inventive projects found in the book.

The goal is to make two blocks each week so that you’ll be ready to show off your finished quilt on April 24, 2020. We invite you to join us in sharing your progress with #FarmGirlFridays! Be sure to visit Lori’s blog, Bee in My Bonnet, and Instagram every Friday for piecing tips and her adorable blocks.

Who’s sewing along?

Without further ado, let’s see some project inspiration for the first two blocks. These can be saved for the Sampler Quilt or made into a quick and easy pillow or mini quilt – perfect for the busy holiday season and last-minute gifts!

What size blocks to sew

To make the Sampler Quilt, go in alphabetical order according to the table of contents in the book, switching between small and large blocks listed on this chart as they come up.
