Classic & Vintage - Gretchen Quilt and FREE Quilt Block

Classic & Vintage – Gretchen Quilt and FREE Quilt Block

It’s time for another Classic & Vintage Series pattern release, this time with the Gretchen Quilt, inspired by the Gretchen block from the Kansas City Star in 1932! This series takes traditional quilt blocks and adds a modern twist. Keep reading for all the details on this new vintage-inspired quilt and the FREE Quilt Block Pattern.

The quilt pattern gives instructions for making Crib, Lap, Twin, and Queen-sized quilts. To make your quilt just like ours, we have the Gretchen Quilt Kit, which includes everything we used, and you can also grab the backing set!

We loved how bright and colorful Rainbow Sherbet by Sariditty for Moda Fabrics is and had to use it for the Gretchen Quilt. It turned out so fun and we couldn’t be happier with the result!

The FREE Gretchen Block Pattern makes a 12.5″ unfinished square block and is designed to be much easier thanks to using half square triangles rather than the templates from the 1930s block. If you want to sew with some help, we have a FREE video tutorial where Kimberly guides you through the step-by-step for making this Classic & Vintage quilt block.

Who is Quilting Along?
