Announcing the Home Again Quilt Along!

There are no two ways about it – we know you’ll love this vintage 2-color quilt along! To mark the release of Lori Holt’s new quilt pattern published by It’s Sew Emma, we’re hosting a Home Again Quilt Along this spring. The Home Again Quilt Pattern has nine colorway options to suit your style! Keep reading to learn more about this cozy quilt along.

The Home Again Quilt Along will take place from April 4 to May 2. We will sew one row each week for four weeks, then spend one week adding the borders and finishing the quilt. To join the five-week Home Again Quilt Along, gather your pattern and supplies so you’re ready to start April 4.

The Home Again Quilt Pattern cover quilt and Home Again Quilt Kit are Red, but you can choose from eight bonus colorways. Their SKUs are all listed within the Home Again Quilt Pattern. They use a mixture of prints from Bee Backgrounds, Bee Cross Stitch, Bee Ginghams, Calico, Prairie, and Prim collections by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs.

The Home Again Quilt is 74.5″ x 94.5″ finished and is beginner-friendly. Be sure to grab anything you need from the optional supplies listed below.

Update 2/24: We are temporarily sold out of the Home Again Quilt Kit, and it’s due back in the shop in April. If you’d like to get started sooner, we have several red fabrics that can be used for the red quilt.

To sew the quilt in your favorite fabrics, you’ll need the following amounts:

  • 4 yards Background and Borders
  • 1 78 yards Blocks and Cornerstones
  • 2 18 yards Blocks and Sashing
  • 78 yard Binding
  • 2 38 yards 108” wide Backing

Note: The pattern is written for the Fast Flying Geese Method (also called 4-at-a-time, No Waste Flying Geese). However, if you prefer using foundation papers, you will need one 3″ x 6″ Flying Geese Foundation Paper by It’s Sew Emma.

    1. Hi Kathy, we sold out of the quilt kits quick but we will have more available soon.

If you are wanting to stay on track with the quilt along then we recommend grabbing your favorite Fat Quarter Bundle or other fabrics based on the fabric requirements in the pattern.

      Hope this help! 🙂

    1. Hi Beverly, you aren’t the only one and we are working to get more kits available soon!

    1. Hi Diana!

For the background fabric, you need ½ yard extra to use the Flying Geese Foundation Paper. For the print fabric, you need 1/8 yard extra.

      Happy quilting!

  1. I love the red but also the other color variations. Is it possible to order a kit or 2 of another color that is shown on the back of the pattern?

    1. Hi Holly, we only made a kit for the red colorway, but the SKUs for each of the otherways are listed in the pattern so you can order everything you need!

      Happy quilting!

  2. I jumped on that kit as soon as I heard about it. Always wanted a red and white quilt!! I can’t wait to begin!!

  3. How do I order my kit in another color? I would like the teal color way. I also need to know where to order the backing fabric (108”).

    1. Hi Cheryl, we only made a quilt kit in the red colorway. The SKUs for all the other colorways and fabric requirements are listed in the pattern.

      Happy quilting!

  4. If we are not buying the kit, and order the amounts on the pattern for another color way, is there enough fabric to startch?

    1. Hi Tammy!

Yes, there is plenty of fabric to starch if you follow the fabric requirements and pattern. Great question!

  5. If you have the kit do you need to buy extra fabric if you want to use the flying geese paper?

    1. Hi Nadera!

yes, you will need a little extra fabric to use the paper since the pattern is written for Lori’s no waste method. For the background fabric, you need ½ yard extra to use the Flying Geese Paper. For the print fabric, you need 1/8 yard extra. The quilt kit was not written for the paper but by the pattern.

      I hope this helps!

    1. Hi Elaine!

The cost of the kit should be one the item in the shop. Our kits are usually a few dollars different in cost to buying the fabric SKUs. This is to due to the extra labor of us assembling the kits ourselves.

Hope this helps you out! Excited to have you sewing along!

  6. Can’t wait! I starched one piece today! Will starch again the next 2 days it’s still cold in Pa but at least we have sunshine today!
