It’s time for the third release in our 10th Annual Charity Quilt, Bountiful! We can’t wait to see your Sunflower blocks! Be sure to read to the end of the post for our third Bountiful Charity Cross Stitch release.
DOWNLOAD THE SUNFLOWER BLOCK PATTERN
The third pattern release is the Sunflower blocks, and they’re ready to bloom! You’ll need to make two of these for the quilt. We’re sewing with the Sunwashed collection by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics. If you’re sewing with something different, download the fabric requirements to make this year’s charity quilt.
Sew Along with Kimberly!
On Monday, May 8th at 9 AM CT, tune in to the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel, and sew along with Kimberly Jolly live as she shows you how to make this block in a special livestream.
Our Bountiful Quilt and Cross Stitch Pattern benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.
As we embark on our 10th Annual Charity Quilt, we continue to be amazed by the generosity of this sewing community and inspired by the stories of the children who have been granted life-changing Wishes. The fundraiser works by offering the Bountiful patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. From now through August, we will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the first Friday of each month.
Bountiful Quilting Spotlight
We have a great lineup of quilters sewing along with us (like you if you’re reading this)! See what this month’s designer and quilter had to share below.
Jane Davidson (@quiltjane) is a talented fabric and pattern designer, author, and teacher. She is sewing her Bountiful Charity Quilt in Beyond Bella by Annie Brady for Moda Fabrics, and we love how it looks!
We asked Jane, What practice of yours has yielded the most “bountiful” results for you in quilting? Why?
“Teaching others to create through quilting or craft has reaped the most joy. Sharing my bountiful love and knowledge of the craft and bringing people together to laugh and learn something new is by far the most rewarding activity I can do.”
Be sure to follow Jane on Instagram (@quiltjane) to see what she’s up to!
Bonus Finishing Patterns for Bountiful
As an added bonus, we’re releasing extra finishing patterns you can use with the blocks! When you donate today, you’ll get us closer to our goal of granting ten wishes and closer to releasing a new bonus pattern. We’re less than $10,000 away from our next bonus release pattern!
For each milestone goal, we hit with our fundraiser, we will release extra finishing patterns you can use with the blocks. At $40,000, $60,000, $80,000, and $100,000, we will celebrate with a new free pattern release!
