This October, wear your heart on your sleeve during this endearing quilt along. We’re spreading breast cancer awareness with Moda Fabrics for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! In this year when many of us put off regular checkups (and mammograms), it’s especially important to remind ourselves and our friends to get screened. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%.
The Stitch Pink 2021 Sew Along is in support of Moda’s virtual awareness-raising event starting on October 15. This year’s design by Sherri McConnell features her collection, Sincerely Yours by Sherri and Chelsi for Moda Fabrics.
Sherri will be hosting a series of tutorial videos each Friday in October to guide us through her heartfelt quilt design. These videos will be available for free on A Quilting Life YouTube channel, with updates on the Moda Inspiration Center!
About the Quilt
We’ll be sewing along with Moda using the Sincerely Yours Together Stitch Pink Sew Along Quilt Kit that includes the Together Quilt Pattern and Sincerely Yours fabric for the 64.5″ x 75.5″ quilt top and binding. Get involved during Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Learn more about breast cancer awareness and early detection. The National Breast Cancer Foundation has a free breast cancer guide detailing breast cancer’s impact on women and how we can work together to reduce the number of women affected.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fat Quarter Shop will host a fundraiser in October for the National Breast Cancer Foundation for their work providing early detection, education, and support services. We’ll share details on the blog when it starts.
