Ever since the quilting gem Celebrate with Quilts by Susan Ache and Lissa Alexander arrived, I’ve been eager to sew the gorgeous sampler quilt on the cover! If you’re sewing along with me on the Piece & Quilt Sampler, it’s time to make the first month’s blocks.
This scrappy and fabulous adventure is the perfect way to honor Susan Ache and Lissa Alexander’s book of seasonal quilts made with classic quilt blocks, Celebrate with Quilts. If you’re just tuning in, it’s not too late to join us for the Piece and Quilt Sampler Quilt Along, which runs through February 2025.
Quilt Along Supplies
The Piece and Quilt Sampler Quilt is an intermediate-level quilt that finishes at 72.5”x 91.25”. Each month, you’ll sew different antique quilt blocks. You’ll need the book and the info packet to get started!

To participate, gather your supplies, download the pattern, and follow the schedule from the packet. I’m sharing my progress on the 3rd Monday of each month on Fat Quarter Shop’s Instagram and Facebook.

I have most of my blocks cut out, but will need to wait to see color placement to finish with some of the others. I have a STRONG URGE to just jump in and sew it all at once!!!
I have my fabric and my book! I am planning to sew along, but I don’t do Facebook or instagram, so I guess I will miss everyone else’s progress. I figure I will still have beautiful quilt when I am done!
I just received the book and fabrics. I’m excited to start the quilting also do not use Instagram or Facebook. I hope they post on this blog or You Tube others photos.

What would the fabric requirements be if I didn’t want to make it quite as scrappy with the fat quarters? I would like to not use quite as many fabrics in the top, but don’t want to get too much extra either.
