2021 has brought the beginning of a fresh new year, and with the new year comes new quilt projects! I’m excited to show you throughout 2021 what projects I have been sewing this year. Last year I captured all my makes on the blog, and I’m continuing the tradition this year by sharing all my new quilts, along with all of their pattern, fabric, and quilting details. Because if I don’t write it down, did it really happen?
Sparkle Star Quilt
I started off the year by making my version of the Sparkle Star quilt with Lori Holt’s Sparkle Star Quilt Foundation Paper Pads.
- Sparkle Star Quilt – I used 25 of the 12″ Sparkle Star Quilt Block Foundation Paper
- Designer: Lori Holt
- Fabric: Flea Market by Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet
- Background: Bee Backgrounds Prim Cottage Clover Yardage
- Binding: Granny Chic Red Curtains Yardage
- Backing: Flea Market 108″ Wide Red Roses Yardage
- Pieced by Kimberly Jolly
- Quilted by Gina Tell, Thread Graffiti
- Size: 60.5″ x 60.5″

Best Friends Quilt
Lori Holt and I collaborated on this quilt using the free Best Friends Quilt pattern from the Best Friends Quilt Along! We each sewed half of the blocks to make a complete quilt. More than the finished quilt, this quilt along was about the process of making something together (even though we were apart!).
- Best Friends Quilt – using Log Cabin, Pineapple, Economy, and the Courthouse Steps Foundation Paper Pads by It’s Sew Emma.
- Designer: Jocelyn Ueng
- Fabric: Bee Basics & Bee Backgrounds by Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet
- Pieced by Kimberly Jolly and Lori Holt
- Quilted by Gina Tell, Thread Graffiti
- Size: 48.5″ x 48.5″
That’s it for this report, time to sew on…

Fully finished: Love Is baby quilt, Lucky Table runner, Carpenter’s Star wall hanging, Easter table runner, Pixelated Heart bed quilt, and several cross stitch projects.
That’s awesome! Sounds like you’ve been very productive!
Finishing up a Nine Patch Square Dance quilt by Sherri McConnell and a Log Cabin using your 6 inch foundation peper!
I finished the FeelingPine sew sampler & La Casita. Then I had emergency hand surgery on my right hand and I’m finally able to sew again. Due to some emergency abdominal surgery in spring of 2020 I didn’t finish the Bloomtopia charity quilt., so I’m working on putting it together. Thanks to you Kimberly Jolly as you’ve kept me somewhat sane in the last year! Lol
