Howdy and welcome back! We’re sewin’ up a storm through another month of the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Quilt Along! It’s been quite a ride and there is still a way to go! We’re sew excited to see your progress. There are 45 blocks of the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler Quilt and we are 28 in! This much-anticipated sequel to Farm Girl Vintage features 6″ and 12″ quilt blocks, inspired by Lori Holt’s rural roots. She has also designed 13 new projects, including quilts, pillows and a pincushion that use these cute-as-can-bee blocks!
We covered Weeks 13 through 20 last month and now we’re catching up on blocks 21 through 28.
Week 11: Blocks 21 and 22
The Happy Horse and Honey Bee blocks were all the buzz during week 11! This horse was quite the challenge but quilty staffer Teresa took her time and got all of her pieces just right. We love the patchwork saddle blanket. What colors did you sew your horse in?
Week 12: Blocks 23 and 24
Teresa sewed the Little Acorn and Lazy Daisy blocks next! These cute blocks are both sewn at 6″.
Week 13: Blocks 25 and 26
During Week 13, Teresa sewed the Mama’s Apron and Mama’s Applique blocks. The Vintage Trim on Mama’s Apron is the cutest little detail. We think you could even add some buttons if you wanted.
Week 14: Blocks 27 and 28
For week 14, Teresa got a visit from the local Milk Cow! Isn’t she the cutest? The Milk Cow block was sewed at 12″ and the Maple Leaf block was sewn at 6″.
Cream of the Crop
Without further ado, let’s see some project inspiration for blocks 21-30. These can be saved for the Sampler Quilt or made into a quick and easy pillow or mini quilt. Tell us which block you are on in the comments!
About the Quilt
The Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sampler features all 45 blocks, and room to add a few of your favorite blocks from other Lori books! Check out the Kickoff blog post for Fabric Requirements and more details on sewing the 88.5″ x 95.5″ quilt.
Sew Along Schedule
The Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along runs through Friday, April 3, 2020. Each month on our blog, we’re sharing Farm Girl Vintage 2 blocks, along with additional settings and projects found in Farm Girl Vintage 2. We’ve invited quilters to make the blocks for the Sampler Quilt or any of the other inventive projects found in the book.
The goal is to make two blocks each week so that you’ll be ready to show off your finished quilt on April 24, 2020. We invite you to join us in sharing your progress with #FarmGirlFridays! Be sure to visit Lori’s blog, Bee in My Bonnet, and Instagram every Friday for piecing tips and her adorable blocks.
Join the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Sew Along!
Get weekly updates from Lori Holt on Bee in My Bonnet. Every Friday, we will share two blocks on our Facebook and Instagram feeds, going right down the list in the book. We hope you’ll join us in sewing along and sharing your blocks with the hashtag #FarmGirlFridays, too! For a list of supplies or exact block sizes to make, see this post.

Is it too late to start making this sew along. I already have the book, but I do not have the fabric or fabric requirements? Would I need a fat quarter bundle, or what is recommended? Is the fabric Lori used still available?
The link to the fabric requirements is listed in the post.
