Christmas Mystery Quilt and Stitch Along is Coming Soon... - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Christmas Mystery Quilt and Stitch Along is Coming Soon…

Like our love for Christmas, the sweetness of this quilt and cross stitch combination is Evergreen! Gift yourself the joy of sewing and stitching with us during the Evergreen Mystery Quilt and Cross Stitch Along! For five weeks, we’ll unwrap another part of this joyful mystery. Join us in sewing along to uncover this mystery and greet the season by stitching something new!

Here’s a peek at the Evergreen Quilt, but the rest remains under wraps for now. This festive design would make a lovely wall hanging since it finishes at 31.5” x 37.5”. We are sewing ours in Favorite Things by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics. If you’d like to sew a jolly version like ours, you can reserve your Evergreen Mystery Quilt Kit now, which includes fabric for the top, binding, and backing! You can also use the fabric requirements linked below with your favorite holiday fabrics.

The Evergreen Cross Stitch measures 109w x 109h, finishing as a 7.875” square when stitched on 14 count Aida! If you’re working with a different cloth, try using our free Cross Stitch Calculator to find your desired size.

The floss and cloth you choose are up to you, but we stitched ours with the Evergreen Classic Colorworks Thread Pack on Natural 14 Count Aida by Wichelt. Some other seasonal supplies we’d recommend include the Festively Gift Wrapped Enamel Needle Minder, Enchanted Ornament Enamel Charm, and the Berry Mad for Plaid Project bag.

All through July and the start of August 2023, we will release a weekly free video tutorial on our YouTube channel with a FREE quilt block pattern. Join Kimberly Jolly for this 5-part mystery quilt along, as she shows you how to sew a new block each week! Subscribe to the Fat Quarter Shop channel so you don’t miss it!

As we countdown to this mystery quilt and stitch along, we will keep you updated through social media and the blog! For now, prepare by stocking sewing and stitching supplies from the Evergreen Sew Along supplies page so you’re ready to sleigh this quilt along this coming July!

    1. Hi again Lori!

    1. Hi Charlene, we have had to delay the start of this to July 11 due to fabric shipping times. We expect to see the kits and fabric requirements within the next few days, and then we plan to get started on July 11.

  15. fabric requirements call for a layer cake, can 2 charm packs work also for this instead? love this idea and can’t wait for it to start!

    1. Hi Jenny!

Due to the cutting required there are pieces that are longer than 5″ so you’ll need a layer cake to cut those which is why we recommended it! 🙂

  16. I loved doing the Halloween mystery and I can’t wait to do the Evergreen Mystery. Thank you…

  17. @fatquartershop – will we have enough if we starch the layer cake?

    1. Hey Patricia!

This is a great question and the answer is yes, there is enough fabric in the layer cakes that you can absolutely starch them. 🙂
