  1. LOVE the Frixion pens. Use them all the time. They are by far the best brand that I have used.

  2. I would love to have one of those Frixion pens! I've been waiting for one to pop up in my Sew Sampler box!

  3. Love the Aurifil thread! Creative grids rulers are the best! Too many to pick one favorite.

  4. I keep hearing about Frixion pens, and I would love to try them. This quilt is such a clever design! Thank you for this offer.

  5. Frixion pen is the only marker I use…never fails! Like you, I use a Reliable iron and love it! I've had mine for several years now and the only iron I use! Thank you for the pattern!

  6. i love the Aurifil 2024 thread – I use it all the time!! and the frixion pen is great to use and the alphabities!!! (love them all) mumbird3(at)auburn(dot)edu

  7. I really Ike the rotary color and small ruler. I do a lot of small quilts and that is the ruler I seem to reach for the most.

  8. Thank you so very much for sharing another great shortcut pattern, I have used a number of them! I was excited to see the the links to look at other versions, but most of them have no mention of this new pattern and no version to see.

  9. So many favorites! I am addicted to Aurifil thread Creative Grids rulers! I can't live without them, lol. Thanks for the cute pattern, and the chance to win!

  10. favorite notions are like picking your favorite child…i would be lost without the walking foot, the iron, and i love the ruler kimberly was using….thanks for the generous give-a-way. janet

  11. Although I love love my Creative Grids/Fat Quarter Shop 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 Ruler because I use it every single day and am able to take it with me everywhere so it's definitely invaluable and a favorite, my favorite in the video is BY FAR THE Alphabitties! How did I ever live without these little cuties? They are so helpful, time savers and keep me so organized! I absolutely adore them. Kwarren29@cox.net

  12. I got a Frixion pen for Christmas, and have been having a ball using it. Am I a sewing nerd or what–LOL! I LOVE IT! Thanks for the new pattern…I can't wait to look through my stash and start cutting it out.

  13. My favorite is the cut and press mat, although mine is warped and not quite as white. Almost time for a new one! Thank you for the great tutorials and super service. I am sincerely impressed with how fast you ship! Thanks again and good luck to all! Kathy

  14. What a great pattern. I enjoyed seeing all the different options made by the bloggers. My favorite notion is great thread. I've just started using Aurifil thread and it's wonderful.

  15. I love the Alphabets. Looks like they would be useful on any block with multiple pieces.

  16. I love the size of the ruler used to mark the diagonal. I think it's
Creative Grids/Fat Quarter Shop 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 Ruler . This is now on my to buy list.

  17. I try to limit the number of rulers I have because I have so little space, but I am really liking the small ruler shown in the video – looks like a 6.5 x 2.5

  18. I have fallen in love with Aurifil thread, especially in free motion quilting on my domestic machine! Thanks for a beautiful pattern and great video tutorial.

  19. I am on the bandwagon with the Aurifil thread also. I love it and so does my machine. This is a cute, fun, and fast quilt. Love it!

  20. I like the small ruler for working with the smaller squares — both for drawing lines and for cutting the corners off after sewing.

  21. Frixion pens are my friend! LOL They truly make it easy to mark, then erase with an iron. Love the video!

  22. Love the notions used in the video, but my favorite is possibly the Frixion pen. Love to use it for embroidery marking, applique and more. wonderful tool and product.

  23. A quilty friend gave me a set of Alphabities as a Christmas gift. I absolutely love them. Now that I use them, I can't imagine what I did without them.

  24. It is a gray pattern. I like the ruler you use. I have one that I misplace all the time so i have gotten a couple more to have near me all the time.

  25. I've always wanted a set of those Alphabitties but haven't purchased one yet. Love this pattern and all the samples I've seen from others.

  26. The frixion pens are my favorite; I just wish they would make a white one for use on very dark fabrics. Sigh. Thanks for the opportunity!

  27. I love my 6" ruler and frixion pen! Both from past Sew Sampler boxes. Notions I didn't know I needed, but now can't live without. Thanks Fat Quarter Shop.

  28. I absolutely love the friction pens. I have a couple different colors of the pens that I use depending on the fabric that I need to draw a line on. I have even given these pens out to my sewing buddies. They are amazing.

  29. I like the idea of the Frixon pens, never thought about the fact that it disappears after ironing, so that would make a great way to mark your 1/2 square units! Great quilt, thanks for the free pattern!

  30. I love to have a small ruler near my machine – the Creative Grids/Fat Quarter shop ruler in the video is the perfect size – might just have to have one too!

  31. The Reliable iron would be my absolute favorite, but I do like all the notions in the video and even though it's not a notion, I really like Kim's shirt!! I will never buy another Oliso iron as mine died recently, it's still under warranty and Oliso hasn't taken responsibility on it and has been difficult and useless to deal with!!!!

  32. Alphabities were my favorite notion from the tutorial. Although, I don't have any and still use snips of paper to do it. This would be a notion I would buy for myself.

  33. My favorite notion used in Kimberly's youtube video is definitely the Aplhabitties. They help to keep things organized. One of the best inventions ever!!! Thanks Kimberly! Love the free quilt pattern!

  34. That's a really cute quilt. Thanks for the video. I'm very visual and love videos.

I have a question. I love frixion pens, but was wondering…If I mark a quilt border for quilting and the marking is on there for say several weeks or maybe a couple of months, will frixion marking still iron off easily? I'm doing a queen sized quilt and have limited time for quilting it on my domestic machine. It may take me a while. 🙂

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  35. I love my Creative Grids rulers, and I have also been enjoying my Alphabitties. I attach them to my fabric stacks with Wonderclips.

  36. I haven't bought the yet, but have decided that the Alphabitties have great value in organizing and keeping pieces straight.

  37. Just started using Frixion pens to mark cutting lines. Love them. Had to search for one, as my son took it to write something, and had to tell him that the ink was disappearing. It is easy to keep up with now!

  38. Definitely the iron, as mine is about to bite the dust! It gets 99% of its use in quilting activities in my quilt room….thanks for the giveaway! Deb E / Oregon mdenders@msn.com

  39. This looks like a very fun pattern, thank you. I enjoyed checking out the other bloggers' fabric choices. The frixion pen was my favorite notion used in your tutorial. Thanks for the chance to win.

  40. The small ruler is my best friend. The smaller size is convenient and so much easier to manage when marking or cutting smaller pieces of fabric. — soparkaveataoldotcom

  41. I love my little ruler! I was also eyeing the iron, I need to replace mine. I haven't tried the pens but it sounds like I should! Thanks for the pattern and video!

  42. I would like to try the Fixion pen as well. I have used a normal disappearing pen, but the fact that this would disappear when I am pressing saves a step!

  43. I really appreciate my Cut & Press mat. However, I want to try your Alphabitties & the small 2.5 " ruler. THANK YOU for this wonderful LC POP quilt pattern!

  44. A variety of rulers is good, but I do find myself gravitating to smaller ones for marking diagonal lines like the one you used in the video, easy to maneuver!

  45. Don't mistake a yellow highlighter for a Frixon pen. It does 't come out well, especially when you steam it really hard trying to make it disappear! Love Frixon pens.

  46. Aurifil thread is definitely my favorite notion! Any other brand I have used leaves excessive lint and feels "sluggish" through my needle.

  47. I got my first Aurifil thread from Fat Quarter Shop in a small bundle. I have to say it's the best thread ever!! Love it!

  48. I like the Press and Cut Quilter's Mat–would be very handy!
    bjkaup(at)(abbnebraska()dot)(com)

  49. I've been doing some machine embroidery and use the blue water soluble pen to mark the placement, which is handy. jarvenpa1ne at gmail dot com

  50. I loved the Quilters' Cut and Press II; I'd never seen that before and think it's a great idea!

Many thanks for this great giveaway.

  51. Looooove those Blue Alphabitties!! Love the Quilt too! Thank you for the Pattern & videao! 🙂

Thank you too..for chance to win your Give-a-way!! 😀

  52. My favorite is the Fat Quarter Shop ruler by Creative Grids!!
I added a Creative Grids ruler onto a fabric order from the Fat Quarter Shop a couple years ago, and * loved* it! I then replaced all my old rulers with Creative Grids rulers (and treated myself to some special ones!) from the Fat Quarter Shop, and bought extras as gifts for my grown children, too!! (Those rulers are SO much safer to use!)

  53. I have been doing a lot of embroidery lately so the Erixon pens are indispensable. Aside from that I have different scissors/shears for cutting different kinds of fabric. I use the good old standby steel/metal ones that can be sharpened for synthetic fabrics and the fancy ones for all cotton fabrics when not using my rotary cutter. Having sharp good scissors are indispensable. I also have "dedicated" scissors for paper.
