We’re celebrating our quilting community with a free block of the week quilt along called the Sewcialites Quilt Along. We’ve joined forces with 18 talented designers to bring you a free 38-week quilt along with amazing sampler blocks and sew many options! This week’s designer, Lisa Bongean is a longtime quilter and is the designer behind Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics. Lisa designed the Loyal block is a perfect beginner-level block using easy half-square triangle units.
Lisa sewed her 9″ and 3″ Loyal block from her collection, Urban Farmhouse Gatherings. Lisa heavily starched her blocks for accurate cutting and piecing on both blocks. Visit Lisa’s blog for more details.

Kimberly’s block is sewed with the Homestead collection by April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics. She made her block in all three sizes for a fun challenge.

The link for block 2 by Lisa Bongean is wrong. The link takes you to block 1. Can’t download the block 2 pattern.
I, like Jan Snyder, can not print out Block #2 of Sewcialite quilt. After it shows pattern, I go to print and the pages are blank. Thank you for any help. j.

Someone linked me to this today when I shared a picture of a quilt that my grandmother started 15 years ago using my great-grandmother’s clothing after she passed away…because the quilt was made using this exact pattern. How funny! She sent it to me to finish, so I’ve been hand quilting it to finish.
Thank you for doing this challenging, fun learning experience. I’ve never done aQAL before and am having such a great time. You do an incredible amount of preparation for these tutorials and it shows!
