Quilter's Cottage Sew Along Week 9 Finishing - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Quilter’s Cottage Sew Along Week 9 Finishing

Ever since Lori Holt’s new book, Quilter’s Cottage, came out, we’ve been swooning over the cover quilt. It’s a sweet reminder that home is where the heart is, so make it beautiful!

We’re celebrating the sewing spaces where imagination, fabric and dedication reside – the space that each of us inhabits that we can call our own Quilter’s Cottage. Whether it’s a sewing nook, a dedicated space, or a corner of the dining room, this is where the sewing magic happens and what the Quilter’s Cottage is all about!

We’re on to the big finish of the Quilter’s Cottage Sew Along!

Last week we finished up the Stash Buster block, the last block before putting the quilt top together. If you’re following along, that starts on Page 30.

This final week we put the top together – now it’s all ready to be quilted! For a peak at how our cover quilt got quilted, read on!

Let’s take one more look at the finished quilt and the other projects from the book.

Sewing Tips

The laundry line that runs above the quilter’s blocks is made from ric rac or Vintage Trim. It’s a good idea to attach this after your quilt has been quilted. Watch this short tutorial for some tips from Lori Holt on applying ric rac.
