About The Quilt
A sampler quilt is a great way to celebrate a new quilting book because you get a little taste of everything the book has to offer in one scrumptious quilt! The finished Prairie Home Sampler quilt measures 73.5″ x 77.5″ and is a mix of 32 of our favorite blocks from Lori’s book.
Fabric Requirements and Supplies
The cutting guides for the blocks in the Prairie Home Quilt Book differ a little bit from what you will need for the Prairie Home Sampler Quilt. So, we will be sharing new cutting guides for each block around the 15th of every month here on the blog and as FREE PDFs on the Prairie Home Sampler Sew Along Supplies Page. Below is the full list of supplies and fabric that you will need for your Prairie Home Sampler Quilt:

- 1 1/4 yards of Bee Plaids Pebble Lattice for the Sashing and Inner Border
- 1/2 yards of Prim Pewter Sweet for the Middle Border

Kimberly is sewing hers with fabrics from these bundles and will be swapping the purple fabrics for other colors along the way. We sew look forward to seeing the ways you make this quilt your own!
Sew Along Schedule
This Sew Along is an extra special one because it officially kicks off on Saturday, March 15th — Worldwide Quilting Day! Join Kimberly tomorrow, Friday, March 14th, at 9AM CST, for a special Livestream where she’ll share tips for the Prairie Home Sampler Quilt and a special Worldwide Quilting Day surprise. Would a 10” square set be ok instead of the bundle, or a one yard assortment of 3 fabrics? Thank you
I don’t think a layer cake would allow for all the cuts you need, and an assortment of three fabrics may not have enough contrast. However, I know that y’all are sew creative, and whatever fabrics you choose will look great!
Where do you find the PDF pattern downloads that come out on the 15th of the month ?
Great question! We will be posting a new blog each month with a link to the PDF, and you will be able to find them on the Prairie Home Sampler Sew Along Page as they become available!
I too am having trouble finding the PDF pattern download that is supposed to to be released on the 15th of each month
When they are released, you will be able to find them on the Prairie Home Sampler Sew Along page! We will also be posting short blogs each month with the link to that month’s PDF!
I don’t see any video from Lori yet today.
Just keep an eye on her YouTube channel! She will be coming out with videos periodically so the best way to be notified of when she has new videos is to subscribe to her channel!
