The 2021 KONA Color of the Year is here and we have sew many quilts ready for it! The serene color is one of our new favorites and reminds us of happy days and clear skies! This year’s color of the year is Horizon, a true blue we cannot keep our eyes off of and cannot wait to start using in our quilty projects for the year!
Robert Kaufman chooses one color from their KONA Cottons each year as their Color of the Year and designs free patterns and projects to display the bright color chosen to represent that year. Last year’s chose color was Enchanted.
Quilt with Horizon
To celebrate our new favorite color, we’ve redone some of our most popular quilt patterns in Horizon fabric. Check out each of these patterns to make with the Horizon Color of the Year precuts (Roll Up, Charm Packs, and 10″ Squares) and yardage.
We’ve made samples of some of our other favorite and classic quilts we think would look great in Horizon as well. Tell us in the comment section how you will use Horizon next year!
The Ocean Waves Quilt is perfect for Horizon. This quilt was made to be blue! You can sew this up in all solids and have a very striking quilt. The pattern is available as a FREE block pattern and a low-cost quilt pattern.
We’ve always had a fever for Jelly Cabin Fever! This quilt will take on a whole new vibe in Horizon! Pair it with a neutral solid or a low-volume print to complete this look. You’ll also want to use your Log Cabin Foundation Papers by It’s Sew Emma to make sewing this quilt easy.
Be sure to grab your 2021 KONA Color of the Year fabrics, a pattern, and share your new Horizon quilt with us! Share any of the quilts you make using Horizon with the hashtag #FQSHorizon so we can see and share your work!
