Highlights from Fall Quilt Market - The Jolly Jabber Quilting Blog

Highlights from Fall Quilt Market

International Quilt Market took place this weekend, and today I’m sharing all about it. I’m Jessica, Social Media Specialist at Fat Quarter Shop, and this was my first Quilt Market to attend! I hope you were able to experience the fun at Quilt Market through our Instagram posts and stories this weekend. Read on to see some of the beautiful fabrics and quilts and enter to win a giveaway!

Schoolhouse Debuts

Schoolhouse was a series of back-to-back sessions, and I attended some great ones! My first session was hosted by Anna Maria Horner, and she blew me away with her debut of Love Always 2 and Brave. Then I caught some great sessions to learn all about new quilt supplies from Creative Grids and The Gypsy Quilter and more. I ended the day with Kaffe Fasset and Tula Pink, and overall it was a great time, and all very inspiring!

The new collections from Anna Maria Horner are bold and beautiful!

Quilt Market Booths

The International Quilt Market displays for upcoming spring and summer fabric releases were fun to peruse. If you would like to reserve a collection or sign up to be notified for any of these, click on the links below to find them at Fat Quarter Shop.

I visited with Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilt and got to learn more about her life as a fabric designer. Her booth featured quilts from Fruit Cocktail, which is so cute in person!

Sunnyside by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics is full of beautiful florals, and I’m so happy I got to see it in person. This is the star of our 2023 Designer Mystery Block of the Month Club.

Sweetfire Road’s Spellbound Collection got me in the holiday spirit. I can’t wait for it to come out next year!

It was impossible not to smile at the Flower Power display by Maureen McCormick for Moda Fabrics!

One of the great things about Quilt Market was learning about the designer’s backgrounds and how they design their collections. Deb Strain was super sweet, and I learned she’s a painter, not a quilter! She hand paints all her fabric designs like this panel from Harvest Wishes.

Lella Boutique’s new collection, Christmas Eve is a follow-up to her popular Christmas Morning collection, and we will have the Jolly Holiday, Wonderful Time, and To All a Good Night Quilt Kits!

How adorable is this mini quilt from Owl-O-Ween by Urban Chiks? I think it’s a hoot!

Robin Pickens was showing off her colorful and bright quilts made with her upcoming Wild Blossoms collection.

Tula Pink shared so many goodies we got an up-close look at her vibrant, incredible new collection, Everglow, accompanied by the bright new additions to True Colors, plus new projects and kits that are soon to come!

I stepped into the colorful world of Lori Holt, visiting the Riley Blake Booth. Seeing all her quilts and the Calico Birds Quilt Kit with all of her fabulous upcoming fabric collections was a real highlight of the weekend! I especially LOVED how the Quilt Seeds patterns are displayed. So cute!

Beverly McCullough’s Haunted Adventure collection is spectacularly spooky, with spiders, crows, and flamingo skeletons!

Time for Sample Spree!

I was lucky to attend Sample Spree, and what an experience it was! Sample Spree is a chance for quilt shop owners to pick up fabrics being debuted at Quilt Market. That way they can make sample projects and quilts for their stores. Quantities are very limited, and this is the only chance people can get their hands on some of the new collections before they are available, so it’s very exciting for everyone!
