As mentioned above, Jolly Bars are a much loved precut, exclusive to Fat Quarter Shop. Coming in at 5″ x 10″, they are exactly half the size of a Layer Cake. Jolly Bars cut down tons of time at your cutting table, and each Jolly Bar bundle comes with a quilt pattern designed specifically for that bundle.

To celebrate the release of the Christmas Jolly Bar Book, we are hosting the Holly Jolly Quilt Along starting September 11th. In the spirit of holiday joy and sharing, we’ve curated a special sampler quilt that features twelve delightful blocks from the book plus three additional blocks to create a charming pieced backing. The finished quilt measures 70.5″ x 80″ and whether you pull fabrics from your stash for a scrappy quilt or you use the Home Town Holiday fabrics that we use, this is going to look sew good in your home.
The Holly Jolly Quilt Along will be running for six weeks, from September 11th to October 16th! The Fabric Requirements are now live on our website, so you can start stocking up in time to hit the snow-topped roofs galloping when we kick things off next month.

My niece gave me a set of Jolly Bars for last Christmas 🎄. I love them so much. I would like to get her this new one for her birthday. What do I need to do?

How do we get the pattern. Customer service said it was in the book but it is not that I saw.
The block patterns are in the book. When the sew along starts the blog will say which blocks from the book you’ll be making each week.

bought my book last week and fabric is ready lol
I love them all! Will they require the foundation papers to make the quilts? I would love if you could let us know when describing the process, highlights, etc put that in. It’s a question I ask on all quilts that’s why I hesitate to purchase or join right away….
You never ‘need’ the foundations papers. It’s always a personal preference thing. Use them if you want to. For instance, I don’t like using the papers for HST, but I may use them for flying geese. Since these are smaller books, I can see why they don’t include that info for space reasons. There is a cheat sheet on FQS that is a good reference to know what size paper to use for different size units. Hope that helps.
