Simply Jelly Rolls is here! Simply Jelly Rolls contains 16 quilts featuring the cutest precut of them all, the Jelly Roll! With the Simply Jelly Rolls books finally hitting our shelves and yours, we couldn’t wait any longer to share that we are doing a quilt along to celebrate this pretty precut!

The Simply Jelly Rolls Sampler Quilt uses blocks from the book! Everything else you need to know about the Simply Jelly Rolls Quilt Along is below.

Join us for the Simply Jelly Rolls Quilt Along from September 16 to October 27, 2023! This Jelly Roll-friendly quilt along features blocks from Simply Jelly Rolls that make a beautiful row quilt! Gather your supplies and tune in to the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel on Saturday, September 16. Kimberly will get things rolling for National Sew a Jelly Roll Day with a tutorial for the first block of the quilt!

The Simply Jelly Rolls Sampler Quilt finishes at 80.5″ x 86.5″, and Kimberly will sew with Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics. So pick up your Simply Jelly Rolls Book, download the fabric requirements, grab your favorite Jelly Roll, and return on September 15 for the first pattern! We also invite you to join Kimberly and sew along on National Sew a Jelly Roll Day in a special YouTube Livestream.

  4. Excited to do this Sal, but I’m confused. The blog post say cutting instructions are in the book, but the book is for the entire quilt. How do we know what to cut for the specific weekly sal?

      The cutting instructions for each block are in the book, but the specifics for how much to do each week will be released on the supply page weekly! More details to come on this quilt along later this week! 🙂

      Great question! Yes, the book is needed as it has all the block cutting and assembly directions. The cutting guide tells how many of each block and it’s units you’ll need for the sampler quilt, but not how to cut or piece.

      When you starch your Jelly Rolls is up to you. If you want to do them all before the livestream where Kimberly is sewing the first block or if you just to do some each week as you sew you can do whatever you wish. You also don’t have to starch if you don’t want to 🙂

  8. What background fabric was used for the Bee Dots version? My guess is Bee Dots Lettuce Thelma Yardage SKU# C14182-LETTUCE

  9. I know this is about jelly rolls. I know they are 40-42 width of fabric. But I have a fat quarter pack. Are there any blocks that take the full 42 inches. I could cut the fat quarter in 2 1/2 strips. Will that work??

    1. You can absolutely join without Instagram. You can just sew along to the schedule provided or at your own pace!

  11. You used to have the Bee Dots sample of the Simply Jelly rolls Sampler on this blog. I can’t find it now. Can you repost so I can print it out for reference? It was helping me with color combinations. Thank you!
