Announcing the Shine Bright Quilt and Stitch Along!

We loved sewing up the Shine On Sampler Quilt with you, and now we’re excited to do it again! We’re bringing back the Shine on Sampler Quilt and Cross Stitch pattern for a new quilt along later this year.

These precious cross stitch and quilt patterns from The Bonnie & Camille Quilt Bee Quilt and Cross Stitch Book represent the celebrated mother-daughter team’s personal stories of how quilting has shaped their pasts and present while influencing future generations! Keep reading for details about the Shine Bright Quilt and Cross Stitch Along starting in November!

The Shine Bright Quilt Along runs from November 2023 to October 2024. We’ll be sharing our progress on the 1st of each month and invite you to share monthly as well. To join the Shine Bright Quilt and Stitch Along, gather your supplies so you’re ready to start on November 1!

The Shine Bright Sampler Quilt is 68.5” x 80.5” finished and the Shine Bright Sampler Cross Stitch Pattern has a stitch count of 153w x 190h. Be sure to reserve your supplies so you’re all ready to go!

Kimberly will be sewing with Lighthearted by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics. You can tune in to Fat Quarter Shop’s Friday Livestreams every month to see her progress and check out the video below where Kimberly discusses the Shine Bright Quilt Along!

We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of Lighthearted, designed by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, in September!

To join the quilt along is pretty simple. Just post a picture of your blocks on Instagram and use the hashtag #ShineBrightSamplerQAL and you’re in! Check the hashtag to find more quilters participating and comment on their pictures to start making new friends. At the end of the month we’ll randomly select someone from the hashtag to win a $50 gift card from Fat Quarter Shop!

In the fall, we’ll share with you the complete Shine Bright Quilt and Stitch Along schedule!

Right-click the images to download and share on social media, so everyone knows you’ll be sewing along!

Author Camille Roskelley (@thimbleblossoms) and Kimberly Jolly (@fatquartershop) will be sewing and showing their progress on Instagram each month. Be sure to follow them to get inspired! In case you’re wondering, there will not be step-by-step tutorials for this quilt along, but you can find all the instructions beautifully written in the book.

Don’t forget to use #ShineBrightSamplerQAL and #ShineBrightSamplerSAL to share your progress on social media so we don’t miss it!

  1. Yay! I couldn’t participate in the first stitch along, but I have the book, the floss, and the fabric, so I’ll be ready October 1st! Thanks for offering this again.

  2. Not sure how much fabric to buy if not purchasing the kit. I already have the book. Will the amount of fabric be with the schedule this fall?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Marcia!

The fabric requirements are on page 77 of the Bonnie & Camille Quilt Bee Book. The Shine Bright Quilt Along is not a new pattern, but an opportunity for our community to sew the Shine On Quilt together! If you’re using Lighthearted like us then you save some money getting the quilt kit, but if you want to sew with something else then referring to the requirements in the book is the way to go!

Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns!

  3. I am excited to see this announcement too! I have had the book on my shelf and looked through many times. When I bought it I wasn’t back into cross stitch yet so I will join in on the stitching side of the SAL. Wheee! Thanks FQShop for bringing this back as well.

  4. So excited! Missed the Shine Bright on the first go around. Thank you for the second opportunity to see it. Looking forward to it.

  5. I purchased the BOM when the book was first released, but failed to keep up so I’m very excited for this QAL. I plan to pull this out of my UFO’s and hope to keep up this time around.

  6. This is going on my schedule, and I have started gathering for the Oct. 1st kickoff.

  7. It may be a bit early for this question, however, I was wondering if
Fat Quarter personals could make a few suggestions on similar fabric choices from the original fabrics that were used in the original quilt.
    Thank You
