It’s a jolly holiday with Fat Quarter Shop! The Jolly Holiday Quilt is brimming with Christmas spirit, and we’re excited to share a special quilt along! This beautiful pattern by Lella Boutique is perfect for the holiday season, and we’re excited to share a special quilt along to celebrate. This quilt has everything you need to make seasons bright with a jolly Santa, patchwork gifts, and festive holly.
The Jolly Holiday Quilt Along will start on Friday, June 30, and last for six months. We will sew this medallion quilt starting with the middle and working our way block by block to finish in time for Christmas.
Come back to the blog on Thursday, June 15, for the complete Jolly Holiday schedule! In the meantime, you can prepare by completing steps 1-19 in the pattern. That’s all the fabric cutting, and if you like to starch your fabrics, check out this video for some tips. You can starch Jelly Rolls, too. They shrink a bit lengthwise, but you won’t lose any width on them.
The Jolly Holiday Quilt finishes at 77″ square and features festive fabrics from Christmas Eve by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics. Be sure to pick the Jolly Holiday Quilt Kit or pattern so you’ll be ready to sew along starting June 30.

If you’re sewing with your own fabrics, pick up the Jolly Holiday Downloadable PDF Quilt Pattern (also available as a paper pattern). This pattern is suited for Jelly Rolls and Fat Eighth bundles, too.
Quilty Staffer Teresa is sewing the quilt with Christmas Eve like the Jolly Holiday Quilt Kit, but with a few changes to Santa to make him her own. She’s using Bella Solids Bubble Gum for his face, Bella Solids Rose for his rosy cheeks, and Bella Solids Tea Rose for his nose!
Another option for customizing the Jolly Holiday Quilt is to change the background to Bella Solids Charcoal fabric. Pattern designer Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique explains how to do this on her blog.

Join us for the Jolly Holiday Quilt Along and create a beautiful quilt to cozy up with during those chilly winter nights. To join the quilt along is pretty simple. Just post a picture of your progress on Instagram or Facebook and use the hashtag #JollyHolidayQAL, and you’re in! We’ll share our progress on the last Friday of each month as well. In case you’re wondering, there will not be step-by-step tutorials for this quilt along, but you can find all the instructions beautifully written in the pattern.
