The Quilts for Raffle

Each year, we are lucky enough to bring some of our quilty friends in on the fun with us! This year, we have four beaming and beautiful quilts made by Pat Sloan, Lissa Alexander, Robin Pickens, and our very own Kimberly Jolly.

Pat’s quilt was pieced by Pat Sloan and Bobbie Yoder. Karin Richardson kindly donated her longarm services. The fabric is Drawing Room by Pat Sloan for Benartex, and the gray background is Blossom by Christopher Thompson for Riley Blake Designs. The quilt includes a quilt sleeve and a handwritten label on the pieced back. You can view the raffle HERE.

Lissa Alexander made her quilt with the beautiful blues and greens from Camille Roskelley’s Shoreline collection. She used a variety of dot backgrounds to give it a truly scrappy look, and a striped binding to bring it all together.  It’s quilted in a classic Baptist Fan design, and you can view the raffle HERE.

Many hands worked to create this beautiful quilt donated by Moda Fabrics designer Robin Pickens. Robin chose some of her lovely fabrics to make this cheerful quilt. Susan Strumpf pieced the quilt, and Robin did the longarming using the Plum pantograph from The Quilting Mill. Melina Pilegaard attached the binding. You can view the raffle HERE.

Kimberly Jolly made her Moonbeams quilt with the Strawberry Lemonade collection by Sherri & Chelsi by Moda Fabrics. Joanna Marsh quilted it with a pantograph called marmalade. This is the quilt featured in the video tutorials. The pieced back includes a label, and you can view the raffle HERE.

Our Moonbeams Quilt and Cross Stitch Chart benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.

As we wrap up our 11th Annual Charity Quilt with this raffle, we hope this incredible sewing community will come together and help us to grant more life-changing Wishes to kids here in Texas. Will you help us? By purchasing a $5 raffle ticket from our charity quilt raffle you get a chance to win a beautiful quilt and make an impact on kids facing tough battles.

Since 2014, the charity quilt alongs by Fat Quarter Shop, Moda Fabrics, and our community have helped raise over $718,000 and granted a total of 110 wishes!

Don’t forget the raffle ends Sunday, September 22 so be sure to get your tickets early for your chance to win! We will select the winners at random and notify them by email by September 30. Fat Quarter Shop will ship the quilts to the winners free of charge. Open to U.S. and international residents.

Your raffle tickets help kids like Aiden!

Wish Kid Aiden

“Aiden was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in August 2022. Over the next 11 months, he bravely endured rounds of chemotherapy and faced a major surgery just days before Christmas, where his arm bone was replaced. Throughout this period, Aiden spent weeks in the hospital each month, battling not only cancer but also the various medical conditions that arose from his intense treatments. However, in August 2023, Aiden received the incredible news that he was officially in remission.

As Aiden reflected on what his one true wish would be, he knew exactly what he wanted: to meet his favorite superhero, Spider-Man, at Universal Studios in Florida. The idea of hanging out with Spider-Man, his hero, filled him with excitement. For Aiden, this wasn’t just about meeting a character; it was about escaping the overwhelming stress of the past year. The wish is not just for Aiden but also a much-needed break for our family, we have been through a series of challenges. Thanks to Aiden’s wish, our family has the opportunity to leave our worries behind and enjoy our time together and to create special unforgettable memories with Aiden.” – Wish Mom Jessica

  1. I’m having issues trying to buy raffle tickets. Some links say the page isn’t available. I created a login through Make A Wish linked at the beginning, and I also get there are no tickets available. 😞

    1. Hello again, Shelley! All of the links should be working now! We did have this issue on one of our computers and clearing the cache on my browser fixed it right up. Good luck and thank you for participating in the raffle!

    1. Hello again, Tess! The issues should be fixed for you now! If not, we had to clear the cache on our browser to get the page to load correctly, so giving that a try might help. Good luck and thank you, again for supporting these kids with the raffle!

    1. Hello Tammy! Our best suggestion is to clear the cache on your browser and re-load the page. Several of us here had to do that today.

  2. Curious if you do not live where these quilts are how are they being mailed? Is the price of shipping on the winner or on the raffle?

  3. I wanted to just bring up my experience with the site in which it seemed as though I was shopping my tickets into a basket to be ‘checked out’ at the end, but I couldn’t edit the number of tickets after I put them in the ‘basket’. I was buying across several of the quilt choices. I closed the site and planned to go back in tonight to see if I could figure it out. I have since received my receipt for the raffle purchases – so perhaps put a bigger disclaimer or notice somewhere that the “purchase” button is instant if they have your card on your profile already. I do NOT regret my donation and raffle purchase and look forward to the results to see if I am lucky enough to win one of the beautiful quilts. I just wanted to share my confusion in case it helps someone else out.

    1. Hi Patricia, yes, you can certainly enter the raffle! We’ll ship the quilts to the winners free of charge, and they can be in Canada or anywhere that we normally ship worldwide. Good luck!

    1. Hi Patricia, I added in photos of all the quilt backs, so you’ll be able to see them all now. And you can click on each photo to see it larger. Thanks!

  4. Having the opportunity to donate to Make-a-Wish is wonderful through the use of raffle tickets. It not only gives everyone a chance to donate an amount that is comfortable for each persons budget but also possibly win one of the four beautiful quilts while helping a child experience a personal dream. Thank you to the Fat Quarter Shop!
