Announcing the Heartfelt Stitch Along

We are overjoyed to present the 2022 Heartfelt Stitch Along! Join us for the 3rd Annual Make-a-Wish Charity Stitch Along, as we stitch this pattern inspired by our 2022 Heartfelt Charity Quilt. Our Heartfelt Cross Stitch Chart and Quilt benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.

The Heartfelt sample piece was stitched by a Stitchy Staffer and finished by Priscilla Blain. She used Beautiful Day fabrics (SKU# 29138-19 and SKU# 29136-26) and a Floral Chalkboard (SKU# 2074417) from Hobby Lobby.

Our Heartfelt Cross Stitch Chart and Quilt benefit Make-a-Wish Central & South Texas.

Fat Quarter Shop is happy to be partnering with Moda Fabrics to match up to $30,000 in donations for this worthy cause.

If you’re new to our Charity Stitch Along, welcome! The way the fundraiser works is that we offer the Heartfelt patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation of $20 for the whole cross stitch pattern to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. No amount is too small and every bit counts. From February to August, we will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the first Friday of each month.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to grant ten Wishes. Wishes give hope and strength to children will critical illnesses and their families. In the past few years, many children in Central Texas have received wishes thanks to the generosity of our quilting and cross stitch community.

With last year’s Serendipity Charity Quilt and Stitch Along, we were able to raise $120,037 to grant wishes to more than 10 Make A Wish Kids! One of those kids was Eilidh. She was born without a pituitary gland and has epilepsy. She was granted her Wish for a camper, which allows her and her family to travel safely (given her medical needs), creating special memories together.

  1. Hi, Kimberly.

The Heartfelt Cross Stitch design is lovely. Please consider providing a pdf of an uncolored page of the whole design. This would enable those of us who prefer different colors to create mock-ups of different color combinations which are more pleasing to us.

    Thank you in advance!

    1. Thank you for the suggestion! We don’t typically create a coloring sheet for our cross stitch patterns. If you wish to change the colors to suit your personal style, we encourage you to go for it. When we are trying to pick colors for our projects, we do a “floss toss” – lay the thread on the cloth we’d like to use and see if they all play nice together.

  2. I was wondering about using the 16 Count Pale Gray Gingham. Anything that might not work out with the 16 count? Also – would that change the size of the aida cloth needed?

    1. Hi Betsy! 16 Count should be fine – your stitches will just be a little bit smaller. As long as you’re using a 16 Count Aida 18″ x 27″ Cross Stitch Cloth, you should be good to go!

  3. Can you post the SKU info for the “finishing” board used to FFO the project. This is a really cute project, but I concur with Sharon, a coloring sheet would be nice. Thank you!

    1. Could you please list some linen suggestions, I’m interested in stitching this on a 36 count. Thank you!

  4. When will the floss be mailed to us that we have preordered? I am really looking forward to this stitch.

    1. Andrea, we ran the orders for the AuriFloss reservations on Monday, so that will be coming to you soon!
