This bird is too cute to resist, and you can find it in three versions – appliqué, paper-pieced and traditional – on the Riley Blake Designs website.
Finishing at 40″ x 40,” Hello Birdie is a free quilt pattern designed using Hush Hush, Riley Blake Design’s latest neutral fabric collection. Hush Hush is a pretty combination of low-volume prints that make this little bluebird POP!
To make this you’ll need quarter-yard and eighth-yard cuts of Hush Hush prints, along with several Confetti Cottons, including:
- Cadet Solid, SKU# C120-CADET
- Riley Aqua Solid, SKU# C120-RILEYAQUA
- Curry Solid, SKU# C120-CURRY
- Aqua 1/8″ Stripes, SKU# C495-AQUA

What size are the blocks for the Hello Birdie?
The individual block patterns for the birds (applique, paper pieced and pieced) show an 8″ finished block. This is cute and might make a fun rainbow scrap challenge quilt.

Is there going to be a quilt kit? With all the small quantities of fabrics needed, I hope FQS will do a kit!

I think this would make a fabulous baby quilt. Thank you for the free pattern
