Layer Cake Latte is a beginner friendly quilt designed in lap, crib, twin, and queen sizes. With just two Layer Cakes and some background fabric, you can be piecing your quilt in no time! It can even be just like ours if you pick up the Layer Cake Latte Quilt Kit and matching backing set.

We sewed with Jelly & Jam by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics because of the bright and beautiful hues paired with florals and creative geometric shapes. We knew this quilt would be cute as can be!

Some of our quilty friends made the quilt, you can see their makes below! Click on each photo to see it in detail and who made it.

Love Layer Cakes? The Layer Cake Club is the best way to get one delivered to your door each month! Who doesn’t love when cake shows up at your doorstep? This club delivers one Layer Cake per month, featuring a new collection from Moda Fabrics. Plus, you’ll save 12% off the price compared to purchasing this precut individually!

  1. This is it! I’ve been agonizing over pattern selection for gifting a quilt to a friend who needs some cheering up. Nothing was just right. When I saw this pattern I knew it was the one and began gathering orange, peach, and yellow solids from my FQS stash. Thank you Kim, and also for the video – it’s wonderful, very helpful.

  2. PS: Hi Cara, just wanted to tell you that I love what you did with the Latte quilt pattern! I really like the effects you got by not making your parallelogram shapes with an ABA pattern, but just pieced them randomly. What a fun twist! That’s what I plan to do with mine!

    Thanks for the inspiration! -Abbie
