Some would say that a quilt achieves its highest purpose in life when it is gifted to another. When a quilt is created and awarded to a service member or veteran, it says, “Someone cares. Thank you for your service.” The Quilts of Valor Foundation has made it their mission to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor (QOV). We’ve created a FREE quilt pattern, William’s Honor, that you can use to make one of these patriotic quilts.

Quilts of Valor
Since 2003, a quarter-million Quilts of Valor have been awarded to veterans of war throughout the United States in recognition of their service to our country. The QOV Foundation connects quilters and service members and veterans in chapters across the United States. Additionally, the foundation matches quilt makers with longarmers who donate their time to finish the quilts. The patriotic quilts must meet certain material, construction and size specifications to qualify for donation. William’s Honor
This quilt is named after Kimberly’s father, William Lawson. William bravely served in the United States National Guard.
