Weekend Quilting Book Showcase by Jemima Flendt

Happy Monday!  Today we are thrilled to be a part of Jemima Flendt’s showcase of her very first book, Weekend Quilting!

This is the book you need to entice your non-quilting buddies to the dark side, er, to start sewing.  Jemima of Tied with a Ribbon has packed this gem of a book with 16 small projects that won’t take much time or fabric, but can get those creative juices flowing all the same.  It’s a way to “Quilt and Unwind”, and we think that’s a perfect subtitle!  In 10 chapters, she covers all sorts of techniques, from basic quiltmaking and simple piecing all the way to applique and foundation paper piecing!  For all the technique chapters, Jemima has provided 2 projects for practice.

Everyone in the Weekend Quilting Showcase has tackled one of these 16 projects, and our It’s Sew Emma writer Nova took on the Avenues Mini Quilt from the Foundation Paper Piecing chapter.  She modified it to make a tablerunner, and we love how wintry it becomes in sophisticated blues.  Her mini came out beautifully due to Jemima’s excellent instructions and guidance.  We applaud those perfect points!
