To celebrate Worldwide Quilting Day this year, we’ve collected some of our favorite free quilt patterns. They all have free video tutorials and most start with precuts. They’re all PDF downloadable patterns, so you can download them and get sewing!
Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just beginning to thread your needle for the first time, these patterns range in difficulty, so there’s something for every quilter.
1. Jelly Roll Sizzle
This easy baby quilt is sure to make the top of your list for baby showers and nursery gifts! Jelly Roll Sizzle is a simple, quick quilt, and you can use any Jelly Roll you love. If you’ve made the Jelly Roll Jam quilt, you’ll love Jelly Roll Sizzle. It’s not just for babies either, download the FREE pattern for bigger quilt size options!
2. Charm Pack Shortbread
This cute quilt combines four patches and Irish Chains! The Charm Pack Shortbread quilt will be done in no time. It’s fast and easy, great for beginners or when you need a quilt right away!
3. Layer Cake Spools
The Layer Cake Spools Quilt is way easier than it looks, don’t be scared off! We love how the spools form like magic with the simple techniques Kimberly demonstrates in the video. She shares all her tips and tricks to help you get this fun, scrappy spool pattern.
4. Fat Eighth Flip
You’ll flip at how easy this quilt is! We love the Fat Eighth Flip Shortcut Quilt for it’s highlighting big prints with its clean lines. It’s great even for thicker fabrics like flannel, and it is so quick and easy, you can finish the quilt top in a day!
5. Fat Quarter Four-Patch
This easy quilt is called Fat Quarter Four Patch, it’s beginner-friendly and also looks great in any fabric collection. The free pattern has four size options, so no matter how many Fat Quarters you have, you can still make this quilt and it’s a great choice for larger sizes!
6. Simple Strips Quilt Panel Quilt
The Simple Strips Quilt is an elegant finishing you can repeat on any quilt panel! Quilt panels usually measure 23″ x 42″, but it’s easy to adapt this finishing for any size. In the video, Kimberly shows everything from cutting and trimming the panel and strips to evening out her borders. This is one of her favorites!
7. Wave Your Flag Table Runner
Get your dining tablescape ready for this Fourth of July with the Wave Your Flag Table Runner. These broad stripes and bright stars will be right at home on your table! This festive July 4th table runner features Essential Dots fabric by Moda Fabrics and measures 18.5″ x 58.5″.
8. Scrappy By Number
Dive into the world of scrappy quilting with this stunning quilt using only fabric scraps! With our project guide you can follow along and recreate this magic in your own quilting space. This guide is your ticket to turning your leftovers into a quilted masterpiece!
9. Sewcialites 1
The first Sewcialites Quilt was designed to celebrate our quilting community together, so what better to sew to celebrate World Wide Quilting Day? This quilt, like Sewcialites 2, has three size options (3”, 6” and 9” finished blocks) for each of the 36 blocks, so you’ll want to start by selecting what size quilt you want to make! These block tutorials provide a world of possibility, with patterns designed by a wide range of fabric designers, quilters and sewists. You’re sure to love every block!

The Sewcialites 2 quilt is made up of 24 blocks designed by 24 designers. Each block pattern is marked with its difficulty level, from Beginner to Experienced and comes in 3″, 6″, and 8″ options.
