Tiny Tidbits: Lynne Hagmeier

The Fat Quarter Shop is excited to welcome Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles Quilters to the Jolly Jabber. Today she is here to touch base on Flannel Days, her newest collection with Moda.

What could be more inviting than a soft, cuddly quilt made entirely from brushed cotton flannels in warm, rich prints?

Our Flannel Days collection has a wonderful assortment of florals, leafy prints and geometrics in classic KT tones of deep red, green, navy, black, gold and tans that blend together beautifully – not too feminine or too masculine. When I opened the box of strikeoffs, I was immediately struck by the luscious softness of the fabric – it’s like petting a kitten. It’s perfect for lap quilts to tailgate at your favorite sporting event or curl up in front of a fire on frosty evenings. It’s also a cozy choice for a bed quilt on chilly fall nights.

When asked how I get my inspiration for a fabric line, my answer is pretty simple: I create fabrics that I would purchase to make a quilt for myself – and I do! What a job!

  1. This is the most wonderful collection I have ever seen in flannel – love the colours and the flowers. Soooo beautiful!!! Lynne has done a great job here.

  2. Well y'all might as well put me on a frequent fabric buyer list. The UPS man asked me what all these Fat Quarter Shop boxes were that he's always delivering! And here's another fabulous must have collection.

  3. Oh my gosh!!! I could get into some serious fabric fondling with that bundle…"My name is Nancy and I am a Fabric Fondler". Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go wipe the drool off my chin and my keyboard. Hugs all around…

  4. I love Lynne's warm and prim colors in her fabrics. I like the idea of doing a quilt in flannels, would be wonderful for the winter.

  5. As if I wasn't already in love with Kansas Troubles here comes along the most incredible flannel I have ever seen. Wonder if I could afford that whole stack? Sigh beautiful

  6. I love all of Lynne lines – her color palette works perfectly in my home – and she couldn't be a nicer person. I love reading her blog.

  7. Beautiful fabrics, as usual! I keep wondering how she can continue to design such great fabrics over and over! I love to feel the fabrics, especially the flannels! Great job!!
