To celebrate Black History Month, we’re hosting a fundraiser for UNCF featuring an incredible gift basket filled with sewing treasures from Fat Quarter Shop, Moda Fabrics, and Aurifil! The Quilter’s Dream Basket includes sewing notions and home décor items worth $700. For a chance to win, visit our campaign page and donate by February 28, 2025!

UNCF Fundraiser
Fat Quarter Shop is proud to support UNCF with Stronger Together, an annual fundraiser that has raised over $56,000 for UNCF since 2021. We encourage you to donate $15 or more to our UNCF campaign for the chance to win the Quilter’s Dream Basket! From now through February 28, 2025, 100% of your donation will help underrepresented students earn a college education. Fat Quarter Shop will match up to $5,000 in donations.

The mission of UNCF is to increase the total number of African-American college students and support them through graduation. They do this through awarding scholarships, providing financial support to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and advocating for the importance of minority education and community engagement.

Your donation helps students like Nia continue their education. “I am Nia Wallace, a junior at Spelman College, GA. I am on a pre-law track, majoring in economics. I am on the dean’s list, and I am a member of several service and leadership organizations. I plan to go to law school and eventually work in public relations as a crisis communications specialist. The award I received, sponsored by generous donors like you, is helping me do all this.”

Why did you stop doing the sew along? I enjoyed participating while donating! It was fun getting to know the designers as well as learn some history!
I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the sew alongs! We have, too. They require a few elements to coordinate, from available fabric collections to designers, and unfortunately, those pieces didn’t line up for this year. We hope to continue these sew alongs in the future. If you have recommendations or suggestions for designers and quilters you would like to see involved in the future, please send them to jocelyn@fatquartershop.com. We hope you’ll join in our fundraiser this year. We’re excited to continue supporting UNCF and the work they do.
Donated to a a wonderful cause! Thank you for supporting this fund. You ROCK!
Wonderful cause, so happy to see your company supporting it for another year in a row!
I also would like to know why Fat Quarter Shop is not doing a sew along this year. There are many black pattern and quilt makers out there plus black quilters that support your company.
We have really enjoyed doing the sew alongs, and we hope to continue them in the future when we can get all the elements coordinated! We would love to hear any recommendations or suggestions you have for designers and quilters you would like to see involved. You can send them to jocelyn@fatquartershop.com, and we hope you’ll join in our fundraiser this year to support the amazing work UNCF does!
I donated. Thanks so much for doing the fundraiser even if things didn’t come together for a quilt SAL.
Thanks for doing the fundraiser. I look forward to the SAL returning in the future.
What a great cause. Thank you for sponsoring this and the dollar matching. Very generous and very kind of you.
Always love to support a worthy cause such as this. The matching amount just adds to the efforts to raise money for these kids. The prize basket is awesome! A fabulous collection to win indeed!Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for always raising the bar. I am so proud to help and hope others can too.
I love the sew alongs, especially the Halloween and Christmas ones, I miss the live streams. What happened to them? Is Kimberly doing them less frequently? Just love everyone at Fat Quarter shop! They are so patient, helpful and friendly! Thanks you!
What fabric was used in the Quilt that you are showing now from 2022?
While I miss the SAL, I’m glad you are still having the fundraiser part. Did I miss this being mentioned in the live stream? Thanks again for your hard work.
