#SewPINK 2026: Free Quilt Patterns to Sew Your Support

Every October, we’re tickled pink to join the #SewPINK Blog Hop hosted by the ByAnnie team, and whether you’re hopping over from another blog or stopping by for a dose of quilty inspiration, welcome! This year, we’re celebrating the #SewPINK community’s support for a cancer-free tomorrow with a roundup of FREE awareness projects, a guide to finding solids that match any awareness ribbon, and all the info you need to join us in giving!

Support the American Cancer Society

This year, #SewPINK is raising funds for the American Cancer Society, whose mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Every gift to the #SewPINK fundraiser helps support that mission for a cancer-free tomorrow. To show our gratitude for the work they do, Fat Quarter Shop is donating $3,000.

Free Project Roundup

Healing Hearts Quilt

Our Healing Hearts Quilt has been a #SewPINK favorite since it debuted in 2021, and it still makes our hearts skip a beat! This free quilt finishes at 65.5″ x 85.5″, the perfect size for wrapping a loved one in comfort. Download the free Healing Hearts Quilt pattern.

Healing Hearts Pillow

Short on time? Make just one block! Turn a single Healing Hearts block into a pillow by adding a 2″ strip to all sides for an 18″ finish. Get the free pattern, then follow along with this video tutorial from Kimberly.

Awareness Ribbon Block

Show your support one stitch at a time with our free Awareness Ribbon foundation paper pieced block. Sew it in pink, or in the ribbon color for any cause close to your heart. It’s a sweet way to use up scraps, and it makes a meaningful mini quilt, pillow, or quilt center. Download the free Awareness Ribbon FPP template, and see last year’s step-by-step post for tips.

Once your ribbon or heart blocks are done, turn them into something you’ll love to use with one of these FREE finishing tutorials:

Find Your Ribbon Color

Want to stitch in honor of someone you love? Every cancer has its own awareness ribbon color, and ByAnnie makes matching them a snap! Their free Solid Fabric Reference Chart below shows each cancer awareness ribbon color along with coordinating solids from popular fabric manufacturers.

The #SewPINK Initiative’s mission is to raise awareness, promote screenings, foster community, and support cancer research throughout the year.

Efforts culminate in an annual blog hop during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but our commitment to cancer awareness and support continues year-round.
