Split Star Block by Lissa Alexander
This week’s designer, Lissa Alexander, is known by many as ModaLissa, and she is the Marketing Director of Moda Fabrics. This week, she brought us the beginner-level Split Star Block. With a handful of half square triangles and some clever fabric placement, this star block is a split-second make. You can join Kimberly for a live sewing tutorial of the Split Star Block on Friday, May 29th, at 9AM CT, in the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel.

Take a look at the Split Star Block in all three size options, using different collections! Kimberly sewed the 6″ block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics, Gina Tell (@gina_tell_threadgraffiti) made the 3″ block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics, and Pat Sloan (@quilterpatsloan) pieced her 9″ block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics.
Three of our Quilty Staffers are joining in and making the 9″ blocks using Blueprint by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics.
