Shoo Fly Block by Sharon Holland
This week’s designer is the amazingly talented fabric, thread, and quilt designer, Sharon Holland. This week, she brought us the beginner-level Shoo Fly Block. Made with half square triangles and a smattering of squares, this block is one that will have you swatting away worry and settling into the sewing zone. Sharon is sewing her Sewcialites 3 Quilt with a curated selection of prints from her Midsummer, Potager, Kindred, Willow, and Shine On collections for Art Gallery Fabrics, along with her Midsummer Stitching thread set.

Take a look at the Shoo Fly Block in all three size options, using different collections! Kimberly sewed the 6″ block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics, Gina Tell (@gina_tell_threadgraffiti) made the 3″ block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics, and Pat Sloan (@quilterpatsloan) pieced her 9″ block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics.
Three of our Quilty Staffers are joining in and making the 9″ blocks using Blueprint by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics.
