Are you a cross stitcher who appreciates the ultimate power tool – the sewing machine? Well we are too! And we’re showing it off with a new frame-worthy cross stitch pattern by Lori Holt of A Bee in my Bonnet called Sew She Did.
Because we know you’re going to want one of these for your sewing room, Kimberly is starting a cross stitch along with the Sew She Did pattern on Wednesday, June 12. Every Wednesday from June 12 to July 3, Kimberly will be giving her tips and tricks to making this beginner friendly cross-stitch pattern during her weekly Flosstube. We will also be giving away prizes each week so be sure to read to the bottom to see how to enter!
The Sew She Did Cross Stitch pattern comes with full-color instructions, diagrams and supply list, including suggested DMC and AuriFloss colors. It is printed on durable 11” x 17” cardstock. It’s a counted cross stitch pattern.
Materials you will need
Here is what you will need to make the Sew She Did Cross Stitch:

- Cross Stitch Thread We recommend either of the following:
- Rustic Off-White Picture Frame in various sizes (affiliate link)
For 14ct Aida
- Cross Stitch Cloth White 14 count Aida Cross Stitch Fabric or choose a 14 count white cloth that is approximately 4″ larger on all sides than the pattern finishes (on 14ct, that’s 7.25″ x 10″)
- Cross Stitch Needles (we recommend the John James Size 26 Tapestry Petites Gold Plated Needles)
- Q Snap 11″ x 11″ Needlework Frame
For 10ct Vintage Cloth
- Cross Stitch Cloth Daisy 10 count Vintage Cloth 18″ x 18″ (If you’re stitching on 10 ct Vintage Cloth, your pattern will finish at 10″ x 14″)
- Cross Stitch Needles (we recommend the Tapestry Nifty Needles Tube by Lori Holt or Bohin Tapestry Needles Size 24)
- Q Snap 11″ x 17″ Needlework Frame
For 25ct Lugana
- Oatmeal 25 Count Lugana 18″ x 18″ Vintage Cross Stitch Cloth (as shown in photo) OR Zweigart Premium Quality 25 Count Lugana White 19″ x 27″ (If you’re stitching on 25ct Lugana, your pattern will finish at 8″ x 11.25″)
- Cross Stitch Needles (we recommend the John James Size 26 Tapestry Petites Gold Plated Needles)
- Q Snap 11″ x 11″ Needlework Frame

Is this stitched on a sewing machine? I have a four year old Pfaff performance (I can’t remember numbers). This is so cute.
Had a bit of trouble getting started, so am now experienced at pulling out stitches. 🙂 Kimberly – would love advice on making results a little more refined. It’s obviously not perfect, get that, but I’m not exactly loving it yet. Hope there are tips to use so I want to frame it when finished! Love your live videos, thanks!
