This itty bitty ruler makes mini quilts more fun!

Measuring in at 1 ½” x 6 ½”, this compact ruler from Creative Grids is just the right size for pixel quilts, small strip sets and even foundation paper piecing.

Magic Seam Wand by June Tailor

Don’t let your fingers take the heat anymore!

The Magic Seam Wand by June Tailor is a hardwood wand finished with a bevel edge to use for finger pressing.

The wood produces a flatter finish, making open seams a cinch with this nice little notion. It’s the best for all “pressing” matters!

    1. Becky, In the reveal above there is info about the finishing kit; they are temporarily not being offered but we can order everything by the yard.

      1. Absolutely loved this box. Bought more of the fabric to make the Jolly Bar Bakewell quilt for my SiL.

    2. We have discontinued finishing kits. Please use the fabric requirements on the back of your pattern to order your fabric!

  1. I love this month’s Sew Sampler Box. As a mini quilter, I use the Magic Seam Wand as a mini wooden quilter’s clapper on my tiny seams. It works great!
The color wheel is something I have been wanting in my sewing room for a long time. And, to top it all off the ruler is the best I have for cutting tiny mini pieces for my new Thimble Blossoms’ Swoon pattern.
Thanks FQS you did super this month!! 🙂

    1. Hi Kathy you will have to reach out to a trade/swape website to buy the the Oct. SS Kit!

  2. I have to be honest here. Fabric – dislike. Pattern – like. Notions – absolutely LOVE. I was so excited to see the color wheel. It will be with me all the time. The magic seam wand will definitely be handy and any time we get a CG ruler, well that’s just a big win-win. Thanks FQS.

    1. I agree with Sherry L. for the most part. I didn’t like the Whimsical Romance fabric or the Mon Cheri pattern. The notions were the best part of the box. I liked Sherri McConnell’s block #7 pattern. I always appreciate the monthly FQS coupon!

  3. This box is the first box that makes me regret canceling my Sew Sampler subscription. I really like this pattern but I almost never liked the other Sew Emma patterns. That and the fact that I started getting duplicate notions (like alphabitties, which I never use) are why I finally canceled.
This pattern and the fabric are lovely!!

  4. In the sew sampler box it has the card from The Bright Side pattern, When I joined it was on month 6 . I have 6 and 7, but will we be able to get or purchase the months of 1-5? Would to hear from you.
    Thank you Patty

    1. Patty,

If I can find the patterns I will be more than happy to send you my copies. I don’t use the patterns.

  5. I am in love 😍 with everything in this fabulous box! I’ve always wanted a color wheel but always looked at them online. I love the pattern & am looking forward to getting it. Thanks so very much!

  6. Love the magic seam wand!! The ruler and color wheel are great as well. Fabric is OK…. I’m sure I’ll find a use for it. This is just my second box, so I’m not using the Bright Side quilt pattern. Might try to find the rest of the pattern sometime in future. Overall, very good!

  7. Loved the October box so much!! I love getting little treats just for myself!! Lovely fabric too!

  8. I love the fabric in the box. I already know what I’m going to use it for. I love the notions, but I need to learn how to use the color wheel. It might be very useful because I struggle with color choices.

  9. I haven’t received my first The October Sew Sampler Box yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. America is father from Japan than I expected. I was even more excited to see everyone’s comments.

  10. Loved all the goodies in this box! Have been using the wand and it’s great! The ruler and color wheel will come in handy. The fabric is beautiful! Would love to know what the background fabric is on the sample quilt.

  11. Wow…it all sounds and looks wonderful. Looking forward to receiving my box…even though I have seen the teaser, it will be an exciting surprise. I hope everyone is having fun playing with their cashe!
