It’s time to kick off the Scrappiness is Happiness Quilt Along inspired by Lori Holt’s book, Scrappiness is Happiness! Join us as we dive into our scrap stash and start sewing this extra special sampler quilt.

The quilt pattern, designed by Lori Holt, finishes at 83.5” square and you can see all the supplies for this sew along by heading to the Scrappiness is Happiness supplies page.
Quilt Along Supplies
First, you will need a copy of Scrappiness is Happiness by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet Co. for the instructions to make each block. Some other supplies include:
- Scrappiness is Happiness Fabric Requirements Downloadable PDF
- Lori Holt’s Scrappy Happy Starter Fat Quarter Bundle
- Lori Holt’s Scrappy Backgrounds Fat Quarter Bundle
- Lori Holt 20″ x 108″ Sew-in Interfacing by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet
- This is optional and only needed for one of the blocks.
Scrappiness is Happiness Quilt Along Schedule
Starting on October 31, 2022, we’ll work our way through the book to make the Scrappy Sampler Quilt. The Scrappiness is Happiness Sampler Quilt has 32 blocks plus an optional pieced backing. We’ll finish up the quilt on June 5, 2023. Lori Holt will show block tutorials on her Youtube Channel. You can find the list of blocks to sew each week on page 2 of the Scrappiness is Happiness Quilt Along Pattern. We’ll have a monthly blog roundup to help keep us on track.

I thought this QAL begins today, Oct 31st. I can’t find anythig else about it on FQS or on Lori’s Blog.
I’ve been trying too. No luck.

We are not all on Instagram. Sad that I spent money at FQS on fabric, the book and etc. Now what?

Do I just make the block in the book each week or is there a tutorial each week to follow along with. I know Pat Sloan has this on her page to start Nov 1st.

Bought the required book, bought fabric, but can’t find the promised sewalong. These things are getting to be too complicated. Sells lots of books and fabrics though. Very disappointed, again.

Hi Dottie, we host several free sew alongs each year, but this happens to be one where the book is required.
I’m glad I bought the book as I am never ever disappointed in a Lori Holt book. But I too am completely disappointed to find out today that this QAL is hosted on Instagram!! I don’t do Instagram & so I won’t be doing the QAL after all!! Too bad!
I hate to complain…I love you all so much and all you do. But I too thought the sew along was going to be on UTube. I guess I misunderstood. But if Lori or Fat Quarter shop want to post on U-Tube that would be awesome. Thanks for letting me vent!
