Every year, I take some time during the spring and summer months to make some quilty patriotic projects, and 2025 has some star-spangled stunners on the docket! Keep reading to learn about an exciting re-color of one of my favorite patterns, a new FREE pattern you can use for Quilts of Valor, a scrappy tablerunner to sew along with me, and an exciting new pattern from Lori Holt with a sew along!
Brave & True FREE Quilt Pattern

The Brave & True Quilt Pattern is inspired by the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s 2025 Block of the Year—the Log Cabin! With a finished size of 56.5″ x 80.5″ and high-quality Bella Solids Fabric by Moda Fabrics, it fits the general size and quality recommendations by QOV. When you purchase the Quilt Kit, you will receive the fabric you need to finish the quilt top and binding, a printed copy of the pattern, and the Log Cabin Quilt Block Foundation Papers from It’s Sew Emma. Finish your quilt with the Backing Set that includes 5.25 yards of Worker Chambray in Light Blue for a bit of texture that really lets your quilting shine.

For this star-spangled sew along, we’re making a tablerunner version of the FREE Brave & True Quilt Pattern that we re-colored in Americana by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs. I’ll be sewing mine with fabric from the Fat Quarter Bundle of Americana, so grab yours now to be ready to start this sew along with me on April 9th. Since we won’t use all the fabric from the bundle in this tablerunner, the rest of it will be going into my stash!
If you already have red, white, and blue fat quarters and some border/sashing fabric in your stash that you want to use, all you need to pick up for this sew along is a pad of the 12″ Log Cabin Quilt Block Foundation Paper. No, I won’t be joining in this year! I”m going to make a Canadian flag instead.
I was thinking the same thing. Canadian and Greenland themed quilts this year.
I’ll be joining! I give mine to Quilts of Valor. Important for Vets to know we appreciate them and that the flag is a symbol of hope still and no one can take that!
Hit enter too soon!
Like Anna said a Canadian option would be great! I love both countries and I know a unity theme would make me happy!
me too!
I ordered the kit for both. I’m going to donate brave to my local quilt of valor person.
