Now that y’all have had the chance to pick up Susan Ache’s new Halloween Memories Book, it’s time to get the sewing startled! To celebrate the release of this book, we conjured up the Halloween Memories Quilt Along and Stitch Along, which features this eerie-sistible Moonlight Quilt from the book.
Grab Your Supplies
First things fierce, you’ll need Susan Ache’s new Halloween Memories Book to get the full pattern. So boogie on over to our website to pick up your copy if you haven’t already! The pattern is written for traditional piecing, but for all of our foundation paper fanatics, you will have a fang-tastic time quilting up the Moonlight Quilt using the Moonlight Foundation Paper Notion Set. All the paper notions you need in one place? It couldn’t get sweeter than that!
For fabrics, you really have the pick of the patch! When you download the Quilt Along Info Sheet, you will find the fabric requirements as well as the included coloring sheet to help you plan your quilt using your favorite fabrics already in your stash.
For quilters who appreciate Susan’s eye for scrappy elegance, you can pick up the Halloween Memories Starter Bundle she curated.
If you want some not-so-spooky inspiration for your Moonlight Quilt, we put together seven different colorways for you! You can check those out by heading over to the Halloween Memories Announcement Blog.
Quilt Along Schedule
The nine-week quilt along goes from August 20 – October 15. We will be working on piecing and assembling the units over the course of the first eight weeks, and on the last week, we will focus on finishing the quilt top. The Moonlight Quilt is the perfect retreat quilt because you can have the pieces cut and ready by your sewing machine for when the sewing inspiration hits! Over these nine weeks, like magic, the Moonlight Quilt will come together.
Halloween Memories Stitch Along
That’s not all; for more spooky season delights, join us to sew some frighteningly cute cross stitch pinkeeps in a Halloween Memories Stitch Along! Just like the Quilt Along, each Tuesday from August 20 – October 15, we’ll highlight a different cross stitch design from the book on our Instagram and Facebook page. All you have to do to participate is to choose your favorite design to sew and show during the stitch along with the hashtag #HalloweenMemoriesSAL.
What You Will Need
Aurifil’s Trick or Treat Aurifloss Thread Box contains all the colors you’ll need to stitch the projects in the book, plus a free bonus pattern. In the book, each cross stitch pattern gives the finished sizes for the pinkeeps for 14 ct Aida, 32 ct Linen / 16 ct Aida, 36 ct Linen / 18 ct Aida, as well as the specific product details for the models.
How about grabbing a few friends and having a Halloween pinkeep swap? It’s a bewitching way to share and swap little bits of Halloween. Have fun as a group while creating a special memory! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #HalloweenMemoriesSAL to join in the stitchy fun online.
