Kimberly’s Holiday Gift Guide for Cross Stitchers

Christmas is just around the corner! I feel the holidays should be spent with family and friends, not buzzing around finding last-minute gifts. If you’re still trying to decide what to gift your crafty friends who love cross stitching, look no further. These gift ideas for cross stitchers start with everything needed to get stitching and round out with different notions that will add fun and flair to stitching projects.

You can shop my Cross Stitch Holiday Gift Guide, full of my personal favorite cross stitch notions that double as great holiday gifts!

Cross Stitch Organization

For me cross stitch organization isn’t just essential – it’s also really fun! A storage staple for me is the Floss ’n Store Acrylic Storage Box. Keeping track of the supplies you’re using is also made easy with our exclusive Mad for Plaid Project Bags and Lori’s Stitch Card Boxes.

Cross Stitch Cloth

I totally believe that you can never have too much cross stitch cloth! When it comes to what I use, I’m on Team 14 Count Aida and stitch almost exclusively on it. With Stitching with the Housewives patterns, I almost always use Chalkboard Black 14 Count Aida. This year I’ve also been loving stitching on White, Platinum, Marbled White Pine Board, and Oatmeal!

Stocking Stuffers

To start cross stitching all you need is three things: a needle, floss, and some cloth. That said, over time, I’ve gathered other notions that make my stitching experience easier and more enjoyable. Flossbities are one of those things! My favorites this time of the year are the Santa Baby Flossbities Floss Drops. Another favorite is my Cross Stitch Journal which helps me keep everything I’m stitching organized in one place. My go-to pair of stitching scissors, the 3.5″ Sweet Snips, is another stocking stuffer cross stitchers are sure to love. Last, you can’t go wrong with a Fat Quarter Shop Gift Certificate, so they can choose for themselves!

Must-Have Cross Stitch Notions

Okay, now for my favorite part – the things that I didn’t know I needed till I had them! Cross Stitch Line Keepers always help me keep track of my stitches, especially when working on larger patterns. Some cross stitch needles I like are the size 26 and 28 EdMar Cross Stitch and Tapestry Needles. A few other notions that I like to keep with my cross stitches are Lori’s Bitty Design Boards, my Library Card Label Packs, and my Cross Stitch Key!

Cross Stitch Patterns

They say “the more, the merrier!” That’s true of patterns too. I love that Lori’s Stitch Card Club is a gift that keeps giving. Getting new Stitch Card Sets every quarter is so exciting! Another pattern that I’ve been loving this year is Fall on the Farm from Little House Needleworks.

Subscriptions for All

Subscriptions are the gifts that keep giving all year long! Sew Sampler delivers quilt fabric, tools, and exclusive patterns to your loved one’s door every month. Fat Quarter Shop’s Moda Charm Pack Club is a precut-focused club that delivers four of our favorite Moda collections monthly. If you’re looking for something a little more seasonal for cross stitch fans, I love Stitch Quarterly and the cross stitch patterns that come in it along with everything else!

Gift Guide for Quilters

And that’s my list! I hope you find it helpful during your holiday hunt! For my quilty crew, I haven’t forgotten you!
