Have you heard about Jolly July? I’m partnering with Priscilla and Chelsea of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch to make 31 ornaments in July! When December rolls around I’ll have a tree full of handmade cross stitch ornaments, which I hope will look as pretty as Priscilla’s Christmas trees.
For inspiration, check out Priscilla Blain’s Christmas Home Tour from 2018. You have to see her many Christmas trees – it’s amazing!
My Jolly July Projects
I picked out 25 patterns to work on this month, and I’m adding a few more to make a total of 31. I’m stitching on Graceful Grey 14ct Aida cloth for most of them, and pulling from certain colors of Classic Colorworks hand-dyed floss throughout. I just love the subtle patterns that hand-dyed floss gives to my pieces.
The main floss colors I’ll be using are Bamboo, Really Teally, Pink Posey, Cherry Tomato, Four Leaf Clover and Gingerbread. I’ll use Jolly Holly, Tea and Biscuits, Queen Bee, Caramel and Hickory Sticks as accents, too. Check out this video to see my floss colors and the patterns I picked out.
