It’s almost 2018 and while the end of the year means lots of reflection over the wild 2017 we’ve just completed, we are also planning for the year we have ahead! Being Fat Quarter Shop, we wanted to use 2018 to highlight our favorite little precut. And what better way to do that then to make 2018 the Year of the Fat Quarter! We are dedicating this upcoming year to the Fat Quarter to celebrate our 15th anniversary and because a fat quarter has 18″ x 20″ of usable fabric (too perfect)!
We are celebrating this year long event with Fat Quarter Shop EXCLUSIVE Year of the Fat Quarter fat quarter bundles. Each month, there will be a different color dedicated to that particular month. We will be curating monthly monochromatic bundles using fabrics from your favorite manufacturers. The bundles will be available at the beginning of each month for your use to make your favorite project!
We will also be having a year long quilt-along! We’ve gotten 11 wonderful quilters to join in on this event! Every first Friday of the month, we will be sharing their Year of the Fat Quarter Project with you to inspire and give ideas of what can be done with our Year of the Fat Quarter fat quarter bundles.
We are very excited about the Year of the Fat Quarter and cannot wait to get started! Come back to the Jolly Jabber on the first Friday of January, January 5th, to see the first Year of the Fat Quarter fat quarter bundle and the project you can make with it!

Love the Moda Cake Mix Recipe Cards and your “The Cake Mix Quilt Book” Vol. 1. Wish Moda would generate more combos and recipes for fat quarters. The piecing is fun, fast, and easy to create fabulous blocks without the stress. Also, more grunge colors in layer cakes, charms, fat quarters, etc. ex. navy solid grunge, the cherry grunge or scarlet grunge,etc.
I hope you will do more boxes like the Christmas box. That was so much fun. Would love to see that each quarter!

I only just learned about Fat Quarter Shop a year or two ago. I can’t tell you how surprised I was to visit your online shop and learn that I could not buy fat quarters except in bundles. With a name like “Fat Quarter Shop” I was sure you would offer fat quarters of every fabric with the opportunity to purchase them individually. When I saw the title of this post I hoped that you were going to announce that option. Sad that you’re not because you have some great fabrics.
