In Stitches with Fat Quarter Shop: Woven with Love Pillow

Happy Friday, Quilters!  We have a guest post up today on Bernina’s WeAllSew blog, and it is the fifth pillow of our In Stitches pillow series!  This one is called the Woven with Love Pillow, and we hope you love making it as much as we did.  It is quick, simple and adorned with vibrant ribbon!  In this color palette, it is a bubbly modern accent, but you can easily switch the look with your favorite colors.

For our Woven with Love pillow, we chose the Amy Butler Splendor Ribbon from Renaissance Ribbons.  For the pillow top and envelope back, we used the pale pink Duchess shade of Grunge Basics from Moda.  To sew down the Splendor ribbon, we selected the 50 wt Dark Turquoise thread from Aurifil.  For piecing the pillow together, we matched the thread color to the Grunge background and used Light Lilac.

  1. I love it! This is so cute, pretty adorable. Those ribbons would also look great on a charcoal or navy background if you’re not into that much pink. I think I’d have to glue baste or something to keep them straight maybe. 😀 The last time I sewed fancy embroidered ribbons on something was back in the 1970’s onto the bottom of a pair of bell bottoms. LOL. Many sewists today are too young to remember those. I kept the ribbons, BTW. They’re still in my sewing box waiting for a new idea to use them.
