Believe it or not, I came up with this stitch along idea at the airport! I love all Priscilla and Chelsea’s new sunflower patterns, and I was trying to figure out how to fit these into my stitching life before the year was over.
And so the idea for FQS Sunflower September was born. From September 1 to 30, I’ll be stitching up an abundance of Stitching with the Housewives sunflower-themed patterns, and I hope you’ll join me!
My FQS Sunflower September Projects
This year I’ll be stitching up all of Priscilla and Chelsea’s sunflower-themed patterns. These small pieces are perfect for adding a touch of fall decor, and they fit perfectly on a Tiered Tray.
- August Calendar Crates
- Buffalo Plaid Summer from Punch Needle: Primitive Stitcher Magazine
- Sunflower Seeds Tiered Tray Tidbits
- Sunflower Street Tiered Tray Tidbits
- Sunflower Farm Tiered Tray Tidbits
- Honey Bee Lane Tiered Tray Tidbits
- Honey Jar Tiered Tray Tidbits
- Blessed
You can find all of these patterns together on our FQS Sunflower September Supply Page!
Supplies
I’m going to be stitching all of my sunflower patterns with each pattern’s called for Classic Colorworks floss, and of course, on Chalkboard Black 14 Count Aida by Wichelt. We have the cutest sunflower-themed supplies and notions, and I’ve been patiently waiting to use them for our stitch along!
- Autumn Beauties Project Bag
- Autumn Beauties Cross Stitch Line Keeper
- Autumn Beauties Enamel Needle Minder (Coming Soon)
We included all of the floss and notions you’ll need for this stitch along on the FQS Sunflower September Supply Page!
Stitch Along Dates
We have a lot going on in September this year, but I still wanted to make this sunflower stitch along happen.
For this stitch along I’ll be starting and finishing one project every couple of days throughout September, rather than going back and forth between projects like I usually do. This way, we’ll all be able to stitch as we go and at our own pace!

I am new here and am trying desperately not to start everything at once. I want to enjoy each project. I definitely want to stitch the Blessed pattern, just not on black cloth. I am not ready to stitch in a dark color yet. What color would you recommend? Also, is there a conversion chart for the Classic Colorworks threads to DMC?
If you search for Classic Colorworks to DMC conversion, you should get several options. 123stitch.com has one. You may have to search several of them to find all your colors. If you have a specific color, type it in. The new colors from Classic Colorworks are not always the easiest to find. If you go on the website for the thread, you can look at the colors and try to match that way. Hope this helps. I have so much DMC I didn’t want to start a new collection so I went with the closest match.
I am interested in joining the mystery stitch for September, but I don’t know what size of fabric I would need for the project?
Hi Carnation! It depends on the project that you want to stitch. BUT each pattern will have a recommended fabric size, so I recommend checking that first to help you decide.
