Enchanted Stars Scrap Quilt – My 2024 Challenge

One of the most common questions on livestreams and social media is what you can make with what you already have. The FREE Enchanted Stars Scrap Quilt Pattern is a great way to use leftover fabrics from your quilt projects to create a new quilt! Keep reading to learn more about the quilt and my plans for sewing it next year.

For the last few years, I’ve challenged myself to reduce my fabric waste by using scraps from my quilts, and I know many of you have done the same. Throughout 2023, I’ve been sewing the Star Streams Quilt. I’m finishing that now and preparing my plans for what I’ll be doing with my scraps in 2024.

My Star Streams Quilt Blocks from 2023 feature many collections I used for my quilt projects during the year. You might recognize some from our quilt alongs!

My 2024 Enchanted Stars Scrap Quilt

For 2024, I plan to use the FREE Enchanted Stars Scrap Quilt Pattern for my scrap quilting challenge. One of my favorite features of using my scraps to sew projects like this is that I can look at all the different blocks and am reminded of all the quilts I’ve sewn for family, friends, and quilt alongs throughout that year.

Enchanted Stars Supplies

The finished quilt size is 78.5″ x 92.5″, and the pattern is written for traditional piecing. These are the supplies I’m planning to start with (including the optional foundation papers):

In 2024, I’ll be sewing with the scraps from my other planned quilts and sew alongs throughout the year. I’ll share updates on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel in my sewing progress livestreams as I go. I would love to see you join me in sewing up your scraps this year! I’ll share my progress on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #FQSEnchantedStarsQuilt, and I hope you will, too!

Happy Quilting!
