The Economy quilt block is a beloved vintage quilt block, and Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet is thrilled to revive it with foundation paper piecing! This beginner-friendly pad gives simple measurements and cutting directions to achieve point-perfect and impressive blocks every time. The Economy Quilt Block finishes at a sweet 6″ and you can also combine it with the Economy PLUS 12″ Quilt Block for even more possibilities.
We recommend making 12 blocks and sewing them all together. No pattern needed! For the more adventurous quilter, check out the FREE Quilt Size Guide for Economy Foundation Paper Piecing Pads for all quilt sizes from Wall Hanging to King, and everything in between!
The center square is the spot to highlight an applique flower. Visit Lori Holt’s blog to see how she made this.
It’s one block, but the color combinations are endless! Prim by Lori Holt has a rainbow of colors to choose from.
