Designer Tidbits: Art Gallery Fabrics (Giveaway Closed)

Bursting florals, colorful graphic prints and bold textures make up the latest collection from the Art Gallery Fabrics In-House Designers. Floressence has us wanting to take a stroll down a garden path, lay out a picnic and get lost in the smell of flowers. The Art Gallery Designers are here to chat about Floressence, and we are giving two bundles away!

Q: What inspired this collection?
A:The inspiration for this collection was cottage gardens with an overabundance of vibrant florals. The textures are also garden inspired, incorporating fences, cobblestones and such. It’s an incredibly inspired collection!

Q: What is your favorite project using this collection?
A:The “Aromatic” Free Quilt Pattern is really our love right now. This pattern is really fun and plays off the romantic florals in the collection. When placed over AG Pure Elements solids “White Linen” it just comes to life.

Q: What would be your collection’s theme song?
A:This collection speaks simple beauty to us. It is very girly and romantic and the song that we hear is Anchor by Mindy Gledhill.

Q:If you could live in a movie, what movie would it be?
A:We are all movie freaks over here, so this is a tough question. Thinking about it we think Casablanca is a perfect fit. The romance and style fits right in with Floressence.

Q:What do you get nostalgic over?
A:Classic songs & movies really get to us. Songs from Etta James, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee and old movies like Giant and The Sound of Music.

Q:What is your favorite TV show of all time?
A:Once Upon A Time is really one our favorites right now. We love the whole story line and we think the whimsy of it crept into Floressence.

Q:If you could be a modern day fictional character, who would you be?
A:A modern version of Snow White.

Q:What’s the strangest compliment you’ve ever received?
A:Someone once told one of our In-House designers that she spoke beautifully. This was the oddest and most interesting comment she have ever gotten. She thought it was odd because who really notices that but at the same time she thought it was the sweetest thing ever because who really notices that.

  1. They are just gorgeous. Remind me of summer with their cheerful colors and beautiful florals… I would definitely choose the "Sweet". thanks for the chance to try to win.

  2. The mint is so calming- the perfect blend of pretty, calming colors and patterns, and yet not too frilly- though that means my husband would probably "not notice" the florals and steal my quilt if I were to make one out of it!

  3. So pretty! I think mint has a more cottagey (is that a word?) feel. Perfect for a quilt I want to make for my sister who likes blues. Thanks for the chance

  4. These really are quite inspired (and beautiful!!). Can I have both? jk! If I had to pick one, it would be Sweet.

  5. I just love Art Gallery! I think I gotta go Mint, though I would be overjoyed with either one.

  6. Such gorgeous fabrics, thanks for the chance. I love them both but sweet Florresence just pips the post for me.

  7. I agree that they are both wonderful, however, the mint bundle would be my favourite. Thanks for the chance to win it!

  8. I love both. But I think I like the mint best. Thank you for the chance to win such pretty fabric.

  9. This collection is gorgeous. I'm partial to Sweet Floressence. I see a new skirt in my future!

  10. Beautiful fabrics! I would prefer the Sweet Bundle – it has a little more pop in the colors. (Also I love that the designers said Once Upon a Time is their favorite show – I love it and definitely can see the magical whimsy in the fabrics.)

  11. 🙂 These are just lovely! I like both colorways but would enjoy getting to use the Sweet colorway.

  12. Sweet would be my choice. Love that they were going for a cottage garden look. That is my goal in my garden, lots of flowers with lots of color.

  13. yikes! pick just one line of them?! they are both beautiful! I think, because I have so much pink already, that I'd choose the mint. but I'd be happy with either!!!

  14. This is such a romantic collection! I would choose Mint Floressence.

  15. Both groups are beautiful, but I tend to move toward the pinks, usually, so I would love to have the Mint colorway. Thanks for the chance to win!

  16. Hmm, how to choose? They are both so beautiful. If I have to pick, I'll say Mint. AGF is my favorite. I buy more of their fabric than any other manufacturer.

  17. I love both of them! I would be happy with either sweet or mint, if buying them I'd have to get the entire collection 🙂

  18. I have to choose?!?!?!?!? I think I like the Sweet color way a little bit more! I can see a quilt for my daughter with this beautiful fabric! Thank you for the chance!

  19. I like them both but the mint edges out in front for me because I LOVE the cornflower shade of blue in a couple of them….I'm keeping my fingers crossed !

  20. This is a terrible choice to have to make. Gun to my head…I'd have to choose the sweet collection. Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful fabric.

  21. I don't always enter contests but I love this collection. For some reason I am into English florals or maybe I always was and just didn't realize it. I like the big blue rose floral but both collections are gorgeous. I don't think there is anything I couldn't do with these fabrics! YUM!

  22. just so lovely, would be happy with either, but if I have to choose, I think it would have to be mint.

  23. I like the sweet colorway! What an interesting line–it seems like a real mish-mash of styles, but somehow, it works! I'm amazed at people who can come up with that stuff.

  24. There are both beautiful and this is a hard choice! Can I pick both? LOL
    Well since I can't I'm going with
    Sweet Floressence!
thanks for another great give away!

  25. That is almost to hard to choose but I'm a hot pink kinda girl so I go with Sweet Floressence!

  26. Oh, such a hard choice between the 2. I'd have to say Mint Floressence is my favorite but only by inches!
Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  27. I love the turquoise! Mint seems to have a bit more 🙂 It reminded me a bit of Casablanca too – great pick and collection.

  28. They are both gorgeously floral and dreamy – but I think I lean to the mint colourway just a bit more. Thanks for the chance 🙂

  29. I just love this new fabric range. So difficult to choose just one colour way, but the mint florescence must come first,as I am a cool colour gal! Thanks for your blog, which I have just discovered.

  30. I really like the Sweet (I'm assuming that it is the pinker line) bundle. It looks like a really beautiful line!! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  31. Honestly it would be even more fun to mix between the two! (So I would take either, but would choose the mint! If luck isn't enough…..how about a present for the birthday girl (me)?

  32. I don't mind which bundle I win. I really love them both and would have a great time making something out of either one. Just to win one would be so much fun
    Lee

  33. Both are outstanding, but Sweet Floressence appeals just a little more. I love the Aromantic pattern; what perfect fabric for it. Thank you for the chance to win!

  34. Just found out last night we are grandparents again!! to a little girl. I'd love to make her a quilt out of the mint floressence bundle. It's my favorite of the 2 bundles! snilloc-id@juno.com

  35. Again, this isn't really easy to decide…but I think I would like the Mint the best. And I also enjoyed the interview of this design group. Thankyou!
