Designer Select: Fig Tree Quilts

The Fat Quarter Shop and Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts have teamed up to present you with a Fat Quarter Shop Exclusive! Joanna has specially selected 12 prints from her Butterscotch & Roses collection along with 3 coordinating Bella Solids for this special bundle you will only find at the Fat Quarter Shop.

Q: What inspired you to pick the colors and designs in your Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle?
A:I started off by trying to choose a good combination of prints for the bundle that would allow you to have enough variety to complete an interesting quilt or home decorating project. Once I felt like I had a good group to work with, then I just sought out all of my favorites! I had to try hard not to make the whole grouping caramels and chocolate browns! I also love the idea of adding in the Bella Solids as I think they really “punch” up the other colors in this collection.

Q: What are 3 words you would choose to describe this collection, not including any of the fabric designs!
A:
1. Rich & Elegant
2. A Harvest Table
3. Wine Country in the Fall

*2 Truths and a Lie*
1. I am dying to have a chicken coop in my backyard.
2. I speak three languages, one of them being French.
3. I only own one sewing machine, an old Bernina.

One of the 3 statements is false. Comment on this post telling me which statement you think is false. Answer correctly and you have a chance to win Fig Tree Quilts’ Designer Select Fat Quarter Bundle!

You have exactly one week from the post date.
Good Luck!

  1. I would have to guess #3. She has to have more than one machine, just has to. Luv all her fabrics…thanks for the chance to win some Butterscotch and Roses…:o)

  2. I'm thinking the false statement is #1, the chicken coop. Lots are guess #3 but it's not unusual for a quilter/designer to have just one sewing machine.

  3. I would guess 3 although I wouldn't be surprised. Some people are very loyal to one machine. I only have one that works right now… 😉

  4. Seems like I remember reading something about a chicken coop on her blog, so I think #1 is true. I also think I remember her speaking in French, so I think I am going to go with #3 is false.

  5. Number 1 must be true…I've seen the cutest tea towel pattern on her blog, and it was a chicken! I would not be surprised if she can speak several languages. I think number three must be the fib!!

  6. I love your fabric, its beautiful. I'm going to say #3 is false! Thanks for the giveaway. I'd love to have those fabrics in my sewing area!

  7. I'm going to guess that #2 is the lie. I love these beautiful fabrics!

  8. This fabric is so beautiful. She is one of my very favorite designers. I think number 3 is the lie.
    Thanks for offering this!

  9. I'm guessing #3 is a big fib. I'm just an ordinary person, not a fabric designer and I have more than one sewing machine! Thanks for the chance to win 😀

  10. I think #3 is not true, that I only own one machine. What a beautiful line of fabric!

  11. I am guessing #3 because I know she loves chickens since she shared her chicken applique, and I wouldn't be surprised that such a talented young woman knows multiple languages. Love her fabrics!

  12. Not everyone has more than one machine, but I'd wager she has that old Bernina and then something else too, especially if she does her own free motion quilting.

  13. I love all of the Fig Tree fabrics — they are so beautiful and elegant. To me, it just doesn't fit that the designer would be dying to have a chicken coop in her backyard! I'd have to say that #1 is false.

  14. Three languages, yes, I believe that! The one sewing machine? Hmmm, the chickens? That's tough. I know she enjoys gardening and I can see the chickens fitting into that scheme, so I am going to say that she has more than one sewing machine. I believe #3 is false. As always, gorgeous Fig Tree fabrics! Thanks for a chance to win the special bundle selected by Joanna!

  15. I'm going to guess #2 is the lie-the other two are just quirky enough to be true! 🙂 This bundle is so pretty and "grown up"…I love it!

  16. I'm thinking number 3 is a lie; only beginners seem to have one machine; the rest of us have at least 2, not counting overlockers and coverhem

  17. I will guess that # 1 is not true. Chickens are a lot of work and caring for them would take time away from sewing:) Loving the new line of fabrics- of course:)

  18. All of them seem possible but surely only one machine is hard to live with. I have 5 and I love them all so I am guessing that #3 is a lie.
    I love this fabric range.

  19. Sorry I forgot to answer the question… I guess number 3 is false ;-))
I realy, realy love this Fig Tree collection and I would love to have som to play with !!! ;-))

  20. Well, you certainly didn't make any of the choices easy did you LOL. I will guess #3 since even I (a beginner) has 2 machines.. although one of them doesn't work.

  21. #3, if you only have one machine, then you must get another one so you can play with your daughter and grandbabies. Fig Tree – I LOVE EVERY ONE ONE OF YOUR LINES SO FAR!

  22. I think #1 is the lie as because who has time for a chicken coop when there's all that beautiful fabric to play around with!!

  23. I know for sure that #1 is correct. (I would love one too!)
I think Joanna is a pretty smart cookie, so it wouldn't surprise me that she knows more than one language.
I know a lot of really talented quilters and designers who only have one machine, so it wouldn't be shocking to me at all if she is among them.
So……I'm going with #3 is False.
It would be so wonderful to win this gorgeous bundle.
    Thanks for the chance!!

  24. I think #3 is false. Joanna did a chicken design for the Country Fair so she probably secretly covets a chicken coop in the back yard, and with all her trips to Europe I'm sure she can speak more than one language. As for #3, there are not many quilters with just one machine! Have to have a back up you know!

  25. Guessing #2 … 3 languages. She probably knows more than that! Fig tree colors and designs remind me of (well deserved) lazy afternoons — simple, accepting, quiet, unhurried, lazy afternoons.

  26. Love the fabric, such wonderful colors and prints. I am going with #2 as being false. Thanks for a chance to win this fabric.

  27. I am guessing that The one about the chicken coop is a fib but it is hard to tell because the other two are very believable.
Thanks for the chance to win such lovely Fig Tree fabrics.
    Regards from Western Canada,
    Anna

  28. I am going to go with #1. Anyone that describes their collection as Rich & Elegant, A harvest Table and Wine Country in the fall doesn't sound earthy enough to want a chicken coop.

  29. I am going to guess #2 as wrong. I'm pretty sure she speaks 2 languages but not sure about the 3rd.

Thanks for doing the giveaway. I love the colors in this collection!

  30. Wow, that's a tough one. I love this line so I'm going to guess #3. I'm cheaper than cheap and I own 2 machines, one new bernina (I splurged after 23 years with a Janome) and a serger (which is a sewing machine in my books).

  31. I'm guessing #2 is false. I know she speaks two languages, but I've never seen where she has mentioned French. I know she would love chickens and it wouldn't surprise me if she has stayed with just her trusty old Bernina!

  32. I'm guessing #2 is the lie because she very likely can speak more than three languages. As for #3, the irony of it tells me it's true – she does have one machine. And some people have a special place for chickens in their hearts – so it has to be #2.

  33. What a lovely combination of fabrics!

I would guess #3 because it is so hard to believe she would have just one sewing machine.

  34. Beautiful fabric. I think #2 is not true…just guessing, though.

If it turns out that #1 is true, feel free to contact me with any chicken-related questions. We love our girls and have learned a lot about tending to hens–save you some trial and error. 🙂

  35. She has to have more than one machine! I guess #3 is the lie. Love the savory fabrics in this collection. Thank you!

  36. You have a sewing blog but you expect us to believe you only have 1 sewing machine? Maybe I just don't know you but I think #3 is a lie.
I'm tempted to put my own 2 truths and a lie up jsut for fun.

  37. I'll just take a wild guess and say that #2 is wrong. I'd actually love the chicken coop and I've had my trusty sewing machine for a long, long time! Be blessed…

  38. I think it would be #1- I don't think you would want a chicken coop-
You really seem to like France- so you might speak french
and I only have 1 sewing machine so that is possible.

  39. Chickens can be so cute (and fresh eggs…) so I think that one is true and you must have more than one machine; that leaves #2 as false. You have amazing talent and I appreciate the chance to win.

  40. I think #2 is false. I also would love to have some chickens. My Mom had one when she was a little girl.

  41. I think #3 is false. I love the new line and the bundle! Fig Tree fabrics began and continue to fuel my fabric addiction…

  42. I think speaking French would be something that Joanna would like to be able to do, since she enjoys Paris so very much.. but I think unfortunately the second statement is false. Thank-you!

  43. What a fabulous giveaway. I'm going to guess #1 is false. I don't think Joanna would have time to look after those chickens, she is so busy designing those beautiful fabrics.

  44. I find it very hard to believe that Joanna only owns one sewing machine! Love the colors in the bundle. Thanks for the chance to win.

  45. I am going to guess 2 is the lie. Joannna is soooo talented and inspiring, love all her creations and this line is no exception. I totally see a rich and elegant harvest table in a fall setting in Wine Country, as Joanna describes it.

Thank you for the chance to win some of this beautiful line :0)

  46. #2 is a lie…. I'm guessing you only know 2 languages? I'm sewing up little mini projects for gifts w/ Butterscotch and Roses right now…. I'm in LOVE. That light blue is just the perfect punch of "fresh"…. Love love love it!

  47. I have to choose #3. I think most of us own more than one sewing machine for fear of needing a back up when one needs to be repaired.

  48. I'm going to say she does not wanr a chicken coop in her backyard. I don't think of her as a "country type " person.

  49. My guess is #3, although I could very well be wrong! This new line is just beautiful.
